If people were that hard up for violence wouldn't they be watching hockey, which is faster and bloodier? No cheerleaders. Seriously, there are guys, esp at the top of the NFL target age, for whom cheerleaders are still a big deal. These guys grew up when naked women were not a simple GIS away. No cheerleaders aren't the primary reason for the NFL's popularity, but time of the week, time of the year, and violence are very very much so. And cheerleaders fit very nicely with that mix. Fine, but what is the point of all this again? Who cares if there are cheerleaders or the NFL has violence in it? Edit: and I don't mean I don't care about the effects of violence, but it's on every prime time TV show everywhere. So is sex. I'm not sure why this would become an issue specific to NFL discussion.

Yeah, I don't watch any sporting event all the way through anymore. It all goes on as background noise. I watch off n' on. Probably why half the stuff I post on here misses some key point or another. I'm not really paying all that close attention. Kind of embarrassing I guess :)

It was legitimately 90% Bulls fans in the building. Makes sense. Looks like the Bulls have the top home attendance in the league for 2012, and are 6th in road attendance (why are the Jazz & Suns ahead of us?). The Bucks are 24th in home attendance. Maybe if the winter had been colder, Milwaukee would have more reason to go to the Bradley center.

That does seem to suggest she wasn't lip syncing, unless her sound engineer was very quick with the control and turned it off to save her. Which I suppose is possible, but probably not.

You know what's kinda fun? Watching Boston weep and Boston-based players explaining why they failed. I genuinely hope for more -- many, many more -- of these moments in the future.

It's a lip sync act. She doesn't really know any different. Suffice it say I'm glad it's not my style of music. I guess if you like dance routines and pre-recorded music that people pretend to perform, you like this. It boggles my mind that for the #1 TV sporting event for 18-49 year old men, they keep picking performers that would alienate that audience. Yeah, they've had U2 and Springsteen and Petty, which were okay, but why trot out Madonna or Britney or Janet Jackson? Makes zero sense I don't understand why this boggles your mind. Think about it. Do you really believe 18-49 year old men are going to abandon the Super Bowl because the halftime act blows chunks?

Doesn't everyone already know this? Just hope one of our normally inadequate shooters can get hot at the right time. It can happen. Place all your hopes on it, and none of your money -- because that's probably what would put us over the top.

We just need to get back full strength (or as close as we can get with nagging injuries) and put our run together. We'll be fine. Obviously disappointing to lose last night, but like someone else mentioned -- the Heat lost to the Bucks, too. I'm enjoying the East being good. I'm actually thinking about buying the NBA package for the first time in years.

I don't know. How can a hypothetical like that factor into a trade though? It's not hypothetical that he has a torn ligament in his wrist. No, but it's guesswork to say what he'd do about it with a different team before the move even happens. I guess you could ask him.

I'm starting to think they're going to give us compensation I don't know what there is to "work on." Selig's not going to scour our system for players. I think he has a few other things to work on, like running the league.

In describing that game, the very last comparison I would turn to is Shakespeare. Yet, that's where he chooses to go with it. He apparently watched the Fridge, and watched Ditka, and came up with Shakespeare. I don't think I need to know anything else in evaluating what I think of his article.

Adams is a total reach in the top 20. I bet he'd go ahead of the Bears second rounder, like you said. I think there's no doubt the Bears are going to go all out at Jermichael Finley given all the talk of TE. And then we'll get frustrated with his drops next season. Are the Packers for sure not franchising him? Yeah, I think I'd have to take the risk on Floyd's indiscretions if that's the final scenario. Do what you have to up front with the guy. Show him pictures of David Terrell. I don't know, hell. We could certainly use his talent.

I hope it doesn't get into an extravagant bidding war with Miami. I want him on the team, but not if we're overpaying by a wide margin I guess I look at it like even if you end up overpaying, it won't be a crippling contract like overpaying for Prince or Pujols had the potential to be. I mean, even if he gets something like 6/$48, that's really not that much in the grand scheme of things when you're talking about a $130+ million payroll. Also, our current leadership is much less likely to be drawn into vastly overpaying. -
Isn't this basically a replay of Angelo? As I recall, JA had to go through the remainder of the Jauron era, then was able to fire him and make his own hire. It was really only then that he became the full GM. The difference is, Lovie is obviously a much better coach than Jauron. But still. Emery's not really a GM. At least not yet. Hopefully he can perform in free agency and run a draft. That will make me feel OK about things, if not overjoyed.

Yeah, I don't think Nadal had anything more to give. He still couldn't quite get over the hump. I'm just happy to see what appears to be a renewal of sorts in the men's tennis area these past few years. Some good stuff happening.
