I wouldn't be too upset, in my mind this shows that Ricketts is serious about his search for a stats guy and what not. I believe that we get out of this with a good GM regardless of who it is. I'm with rocket, and I'd be willing to bet most Boston fans already would like to find someone else. Think of how you'd feel if you knew your GM didn't want to be here anymore. I'd be thinking: get lost then. Don't want you around. Fans are fickle and Boston fans are especially fickle but if he went back to Boston and they won again, which you would think they would, they'd get over it. That said, I'm with everyone else in thinking he is a Cub. True, but that would be many months down the road before he'd be able to establish that they're winners again. Right now he's the captain of a sunk ship, in their eyes. It's not a real good situation, which is one of the reasons he's looking in the first place. You're right, of course, but getting to that point would be a long road, and it might be just as easy, if not easier, to just start over in another great sports town. Like Chicago, for instance.
