  1. But not unexpected, from the Ravens.
  2. Now if they can only capitalize.
  3. Come on Flacco, be more than Flaccid.
  4. no you dont Hah. Nice.
  5. I think I know what you're getting at, but Cleveland consistently puts crap on the field, so any time they want to stop sucking they are welcome to do that. I wonder, though, if there are people in Cleveland who won't really feel like they've escaped the shadow of that whole mess until the Browns actually put a winner on the field -- preferrably one that beats Baltimore on the way to a run at the Super Bowl.
  6. I don't have much new to add -- this is a tragic story on more than one level, from Paterno's tarnished legacy to the victims of Sandusky. The most preferrable scenario would have involved Sandusky getting hit by a truck around 1970 or so.
  7. Too long a learning curve, as I recall, but ended up decent.
  8. Tampa was getting hyped as a potential London favorite due in part to their owners' ties to EPL. But now the Rams are going three years in a row over there. There's already been whispers of them moving back to LA, and we've heard talk of a potential London based team on the horizon. Agreeing to this situation seems increase the chances of that franchise being on the move. Sounds like it. Which would leave St. Louis a 2 sport town.
  9. Relax, he did a puff piece on Raye a couple days ago, too.
  10. Wait, they're worried that their crap pitcher might not be allowed to suck again for them in 2012? I'm sure they can't wait for Carmona's visa issues to be resolved so he can unleash his next 75 ERA+ season on the citizens of Cleveland.
  11. that dingus is doing the m wrong Yeah, what on earth is the YVCA? I think we are seeing a still of a performance of "half a person". They all look like they've had an encounter with Chris Hansen and Perverted Justice at some point in the past few years. There hasn't been such a display of bad wardrobe since....well, the Village People.
  12. I've been asking that since 2004.
  13. On Forte: Do we have any sense whether his injury might slow him down? I know it's brutal but I would not want to lay out big money for a long time if he's going to lose a step. He's fine the way he was before he got hurt, but IMO Forte is right on the cusp of having just enough speed/moves to be effective. In other words, if he loses just a little bit, I think his ability to make people miss will go away pretty quickly. From the team's perspective it might be a very good idea to just franchise him, pay him for one season, and see how he is before making any kind of commitment long term.
  14. That's the kind of paradigm shift we need around here.
  15. Is there anyone who won't be, at least a little?
  16. They may be selling tickets for seats that don't actually exist yet.
  17. Hehe. Oh no we might lose that mediocre guy we just hired! Which would leave too little time to bring in the next medicore guy! Which would mean a less-than-mediocre guy!
  18. Well technically they can, but they're unlikely to. No, per NFL rules they have to allow him to interview for the HC position. Huh...sure enough. I don't understand why they bother asking permission then. Professional courtesy. Plus I think they have to specifically ask for them to interview for the head coaching position. Teams and coaches probably want their assistants to get interviews elsewhere because it gives the impression, at least, that the staff is well respected around the league. Oh, I didn't realize they can't deny permission. Good to know.
  19. The most boring of the bunch, without question. But I hate the Pats and Giants. I'm conflicted. 49ers/Ravens would probably be pretty damn boring for a Super Bowl, but I'd like to not see either the Pats or Giants.
  20. If they denied permission for Hoke to interview, then I don't see why they would grant permission for Tice to interview. I'm assuming they denied Hoke permission because they don't want to deal with more coaching complications......the same reasoning would surely apply to Tice.
  21. Isn't that exactly what happened with Matt Cassel? He was franchised, signed to a one year, deal, traded, and extended all in one offseason. Exactly what happened. This is not a new situation. Not sure why people can't grasp the situation. It is probably my lack of paying attention to the NFL off season that causes my lack of grasping. The difference for me is that Cassel had an entire season to showcase, versus much less for Flynn. But maybe this is the way it will work out. I'd hate for the Pack to wind up with some juicy extra picks for Flynn. That would kind of suck for us. You can't underestimate teams that have no QB and are desperate for one who they don't perceive as needing much development. Since Flynn has had time in one of the best QB stomping grounds in the NFL, a team like Cleveland is going to look at that just like we would if we didn't have Cutler: here's a guy who might be a ready-made solution.
  22. They interviewed Licht today. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-bears-interview-patriots-licht-for-gm-job-20120116,0,4438600.story Not my guy. I'm pulling for Ross.
  23. I didn't expect that they would. I was surprised, though, that they bothered to take an e-mail that made legitimate points and blatantly misrepresent what it said. I'm sure they had an inbox full of e-mails that would have served his purposes without any need for misrepresentation. Maybe they get off on distorting people's comments. More likely, their inbox is full of stuff that is barely readable. If you bothered to construct complete sentences, it was probably enough to make it stand out.
  24. Wonder what happened....after the last game he said that the toe was completely better and wasn't an issue anymore. Guess thats what happens when you play the entire 2nd half against a [expletive] raptors team on a back to back. I read a quote where he said he thought it was gone but it keeps coming back and it's a little frustrating.
  25. This is as good a game as any to rest him. And they've got to rest him.
