  1. Huh? You expected more fake? :)
  2. It's great to live in a country where the bummer of Summer ending is tempered by the start of the greatest sport on earth. Football. That's it.
  3. Nice, I like this. It's always interesting to see how the storylines play out. I'm looking forward to that Steelers stuff coming true.
  4. I'm excited about having NFL football tomorrow night! That gap between Wednesday and Sunday is going to seem really long.
  5. Certainly good news. I actually liked that Urlacher was honest about his knee. I'd rather hear that up front, right from him.
  6. Huh. Maybe he quietly didn't want to play, at least for awhile... Not sure.
  7. Best winning percentage in the league, stretch run, and a ton of empty seats. I don't get it. Is it rainy or something in DC?
  8. It's starting to get mighty uncomfortable in Madison at the moment...
  9. I don't really like ANY of these rules. I don't think there's a great solution available. BTW, I don't like hockey's solution either. I think some sports will just not have great OT rules. It can't be solved to everyone's satisfaction.
  10. I'm not thrilled with FGs but some of these teams........they can't score TDs.
  11. I think the fear is that 8 quarter game between two bad offenses, which turns into a 3 or 4 week hangover. Same theory on why hockey reg season games don't just play on.
  12. I can't get past hating ties.
  13. I guess if someone relevant puts you on the payroll, you can then spout complete nonsense every year and still be listened to.
  14. I think it's more that the playing field is probably level, with many of the top riders using something or another. It's not that he never did anything. It's just a really hard argument to make publicly, because by making the argument you have to first admit that you were doping. After that, nobody's going to listen much to the "but everyone else is doing it too" part.
  15. I know. Half of Madison is crazy over cycling though, it seems. There are many, many people here who care about it.
  16. Actually, he has in my book.
  17. In more positive news, I managed to sell my Cubs tix to some sucker! StubHub check on the way :)

    2013

Most want to see the Cubs compete every year. Nah. I'd love to see it happen, but I'm pretty sure there will be overall development happening next year, and with it will come a significant lack of wins. But there's no need to harp on it. What will happen, will happen. I'm on board for the long haul.....2015, 2016, etc.
  19. How many games do you have them winning this year? I have them winning 10-11 games without devastating injuries and a decent defense. Big boy offense makes me giddy, but this is the first time in a long time there was legit worry on the defensive side of the ball. That's pretty healthy optimism. I don't understand your position, then :) 10-11 wins puts us where we need to be in 2012/2013, IMO. A decent shot in the post season.
  20. You just interrupted my perfectly good morning coffee with a downer. Thanks!
  21. Same. I won't miss CBMB much.
  22. True, although when pressed to make a change, he was capable of doing it. Some of the OCs we've had wouldn't have been able to successfully adjust.
  23. So.....Brett Jackson can power through a 100 MPH fastball.... interesting.
  24. Save those for when it counts Robbie :)
  25. I'll nit pick a little on this. I think the team at the top is good, but I wouldn't want to be without Theo. For me, he's the guy with the ties to the World Series championships. Call me old fashioned but the fact that Theo was a part of 2 WS champs plays a big role in his validity as the captain of the Cubs ship. We're betting he can reproduce that success. None of the current Cubs overhaul even happens without Theo, and Theo doesn't happen without his prior success in Boston.
