  1. Tact is not one of Brian's strong suits. Everyone knows this happens but does he have to blab about it?
  2. I don't know how the heck we wind up with a terrible matchup so often on MNF, but alas, it's true. Can't deny that.
  3. I'm not really convinced that either the Vikings or Lions are good though. I'm also not sold that the Lions will wind up worse than the Vikes. I feel like there's a chance that the Vikes were a blip last year and wind up worse this year.
  4. Nah, I don't want to face Monday evenings without football. Just give Tirico a good color man and everything will be fine.
  5. Not that I like this deal, but things change quickly, and Craw grew up a lot as an NHL goalie through the season, and in the playoffs. They could have extended him for fewer years and I would have been fine. I don't see why it needed to be 6 years. Doesn't make sense to me.
  6. Let's just see how each player performs under actual game pressure. These pre-season depth chart listings are fine, but it's really going to be determined by what is seen starting Sunday in a situation like this.
  7. Mark May didn't start growing up until he got out of college. He might never finish.
  8. Trial by fire for that new OL. By comparison, most other matchups will seem rather tame. Let's see how Trestman game plans the offense to minimize him. I'm thinking just lining up vanilla and dropping Cutler deep every play isn't going to cut it.
  9. Just the way I like it.
  10. I don't wish injury on players, but if it just so happened that Webb needed to be put in at either tackle during one of those Bear games.... Potentially very enjoyable.
  11. Apparently the deal was signed on Craw's day with the Cup. Talk about riding a high. I sure hope that cap figure goes up as expected.
  12. Following that link, there's an article where Michael Silver predicts big things for Cutler this year: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000234776/article/sean-payton-will-lead-drew-brees-to-mvp-more-bold-predictions Hope it happens. But yeah, the Bengals are kind of an up and coming pick this year. They can do fine and I won't care, just as long as they spend this week not looking very good :)
  13. Man, must suck to go through the high of making the team followed shortly by being let go.
  14. Whoa, wayne-o. voice crackling and popping like he partied hard last night.
  15. Interesting development, I think, in that Bucs MRSA situation. Tynes doesn't like how they are handling his case. Instead of IR, they placed him on the non-football injury list -- so he won't get additional benefits beyond his salary this year. Also, his MRSA isn't cured yet, and it looks like the Bucs don't want to admit it definitely came from their facility. That's a tough sell IMHO, because another player also contracted it. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/lawrence-tynes-mrsa-infection-fighting-tampa-bay-buccaneers-non-football-injury-list-083113
  16. In 3 years, he'll be relegated to back up duty and then he'll start listening to Metallica.
  17. Yes. They'll call Jordan Palmer if they need a QB. They're planning on actually protecting Cutler too. Something the previous regime showed an amazing amount of disdain for, and had to pay for it dearly.
  18. Haha, incredible. This guy is singing the national anthem like it's his last performance.
  19. Ford looked like the better runner. I hope they aren't sacrificing too much S/T and pass protection by keeping him though. I think it's the right call.
  20. Hard to know what to expect from the very first game under a new coach. But, I feel like the Bears have every reason to be confident they can with their home opener. I'll go 24-20 Bears.
  21. So if they keep him, it must be because they view him as a prospect that can develop quickly. Otherwise I would think they cut him and either practice squad or just let him go. They must feel there's something he can do this year (again, if they really do keep him around).
  22. No [expletive] way. I'd vote to fold the NHL before I'd give up even a single month of baseball (even in a season like this), and I'd do it without compunction. But seriously, taste in sports is totally subjective, you can't make a case at all. I wish I liked hockey, I'm a Chicago fan and would like to cheer for a championship team, and I've given it a chance, but I just can't muster up a single [expletive] to give about hockey. Dang man, hard to believe. Hockey was always my 4th sport, but with a bombastic Hawks team in Chicago I can barely wait for those playoff games.
  23. I wasn't really listening, but Mully & Hanley were also speculating that Hardin just didn't do enough. "Doesn't deserve to be on the roster." It's pretty bad when a 3rd round pick can't even make the team. Terrible, wasted pick.
