  1. Probably Hundley for me, except that he took it so far it started to become funny.
  2. http://pmcmovieline.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/austinpowers300.jpg
  3. Keep him up. Keep him up. Keep him up. Keep him up.
  4. Suck it, Canada.
  5. Agreed. Now not only will the fans be clamoring for Alcantara to stay up, but they will increase their demanding for Bryant and Baez as well. I sure hope so.
  6. To protect an empty house?
  7. Just valued differently. Especially by the fan base of a team like the Cubs (remember, Wood & Prior meltdown happened here). And especially in an era when elite hitting seems to be in short supply, and solid pitching seems to be easier to acquire by comparison.
  8. Like a lightning bolt directly to the heart of Yankeedom if he needs TJS.
  9. Wouldn't Wiggins have to go to get Love? Yeah, rumor is Wiggins + for Love. Also, there are rumors that LeBron has reached out to Ray Allen and Mike Miller to join him wherever he goes if he leaves Miami. Not sure how that works money wise in Cleveland though. GM in Cleveland doesn't even need to make calls anymore. LeBron's got it covered.
  10. Nobody's making any meaningful moves until these guys make their decision. Unless you really wanted Josh McRoberts. But some of this stuff has to be settled soon, with qualifying offers out there, etc. Just need the first domino to fall Wouldn't that mean a guy like Stephenson is limiting his own options by only considering teams who move on it early? My impression was we are talking 2 or 3 days here, until LeBron makes his decision and the dominos start to fall. No need to panic yourself into a mistake that closes the coffin on Melo.
  11. Wait. Wouldn't that kill Melo -> Bulls completely? I thought that was still a possibility (sort of). Got to wait on this until the bigger dogs decide.
  12. Just put 10 more votes in via text this morning. Get in there and vote!
  13. Giordano's. I've never had Lou's but my cousin, who's lived in or near Chicago for a few years, swears by it. Anything but Giordano's. It's far and away the worst. 1) Giordano's is good 2) Lou Malnati's is good 3) Gino's is good 4) It's pizza, it's always good. Don't over think it Oh, if you would like to see bad pizza it's not hard to find
  14. Giordano's. I've never had Lou's but my cousin, who's lived in or near Chicago for a few years, swears by it. Anything but Giordano's. It's far and away the worst. It probably was good at one time, until they decided to try & jam the whole city through their place every night. I still like Lou's quite a bit but it's been awhile now. Had Gino's earlier this year. Still good - don't quite like their new location downtown as much as the one they closed down.
  15. Heh. After we won game #2 against SD in '84, my Dad bought a bottle of champagne. And we watched it sit there as the Cubs lost the next 3. That is when I knew. By the time the Maddux thing happened, it was more "of course" rather than shock.
  16. I think we are similar in age. I was too young to understand why Kingman was a bad player. Jerry Morales was waaaaaaay cool as a CFer. Made basket catches all the time, plus he had the hands above his head batting stance It's kind of fun to go back on baseball reference and look at who these guys actually were as players, versus who I perceived them to be as a kid.
  17. Mine is just as obvious - Mr. Cub. Ernie came along when I was the age to start getting into baseball and was basically the only reason to follow the Cubs for quite a few years. Wait, you're in your 60s? He's Backtobanks. As in, he goes all the way back to Banks.
  18. Going to really date myself here. Not going to go with my all-time favorites. Going to list some of my kid favorites. Guys like Sandberg and Grace were actually teenager players for me, so I'm not even going to include '80s playoff Cubbies. I'm going to include guys who played on the bad Cub teams before that. As a young kid, as in grade-school, I liked these guys: Bruce Sutter -- I didn't even realize a baseball could be thrown like that. When he came in for a save, I dropped whatever kid stuff I was doing and watched to see the ridiculous flailing of opposing hitters (or at least, what I thought was ridiculous flailing at the time). Unloaded him to the Cards -- betrayer! Jerry Morales -- don't have a "why" for this one. I guess I just liked his name and his look. Great mustache before great mustaches were cool, man. Dave Kingman -- because you just watched him. It seemed like he either looked ridiculous, or he hit the ball a mile. There was nothing else. I'm not even sure he was a baseball player. Now that I look back, I can't believe how short a tenure he had with the Cubs, and that he was an all-star twice in 3 years with the Cubs. WTF? He played 15 years in the majors? Steve Swisher -- why? Because every time he made an appearance, my Dad would say something about how he was a bum. And I kept rooting for him to prove him wrong.
  19. I rather like the idea that the Yankees tried, and lost out to the A's.
  20. Can't believe he missed it. He'll have nightmares about it forever if the US loses.
  21. I can't even get a decent feed now because the entire company is streaming this thing.
  22. Come on, one-time that puppy!
  23. It's the Bucks.
