  1. That sounds do-able. Get to bed by 10pm. Can watch the whole thing before work.
  2. At this point, what would he say to convince someone to come here? He hasn't been able to play in years.
  3. I don't see how we were ever going to be able to keep all this together anyway. At some point we were always going to need to start cycling up younger players, or face the slow slide down the standings.
  4. The other thing I see is that your Super Bowl winner was only marginally better than the Bears. The Broncos punting was much better, but because their coverage was much worse, they wound up only marginally better, as well. Still though: good riddance Podlesh.
  5. Perhaps because the conditions are expected to be poor, they think lack of speed won't be as much of a concern?
  6. Yeah, I got back from Denmark Sunday. It was much better being able to watch WC games after work. Now I'm going to miss this match because of a meeting. Sympathy please. :hello:
  7. I think the Bulls can be used as leverage -- because they are a plausible destination. That doesn't mean they will always be used as leverage.
  8. Portugal could get to 4 points with a win just like Ghana could, and so the goal differential tiebreaker has to be figured out with a Portugal win as well. It's just that most are focused on Ghana right now because Ghana's goal differential is only two behind the US while Portugal's is five behind. Ahh, gotcha. Thx.
  9. Wait. How does it go from USA advancing, to a coin toss if Ghana loses by more?
  10. The days afterwards - when we realized the Bulls were used - were not so fun.
  11. ok.....file that one in the "believe it when I see it" bin.
  12. No idea but it's pretty stupid. Yes, very stupid. Using goal-differential makes sense, but having goals scored over head-to-head is dumb. Personally, I don't even like that. Should be H2H, then GD, then GS. I don't have time right now to look at a bunch of leagues, but in the top leagues, the EPL doesn't use H2H at all (it's GD, GS then a playoff), the Bundesliga is the same as the World Cup, Serie A goes H2H, GD and La Liga goes H2H, H2H GD, H2H GS and then overall GD. So it seems like it's split there. Agree. I actually meant to say "makes some sense." It should be head-to-head first. I thought there might be some historical reason that I don't understand. Barring that, H2H should always be the first tie-breaker.
  13. The latest goal scored in World Cup history, according to ESPN's ticker. Unfortunately I was only able to monitor the game on my phone, since I was flying yesterday. I only saw a few minutes of it on the TV, in the middle of the game. I'm kind of glad I didn't have to see that happen live. Looked like the first Portugal goal was a US gaffe, as well. Ugh.
  14. Sunday at 5:00pm CDT vs Portugal Need that draw.
  15. At the same time, more fans chose LeBron as their favorite player than any other in the league. He's popular, even if he isn't quite as popular as the young prodigy who played for the Cavs. It was fun to root against him for awhile, but I really wanted to see him get a ring this year. If not a Heat fan, why would anyone want to see the same ground tread upon over & over again? I don't understand it.
  16. Your Saints pic was too much. You just couldn't resist. Wanted to show off Mrs. OMC Hah for real? I almost trashed it :) That would've been uncool

  18. Yeah.
  19. Toooooo late
  20. Oh! Hell! Yes!!
  21. Crap. Hell. Frak.
  22. 54. This is crummy news. Always loved watching him hit. I think it was one of his last seasons, I got to see him play @ Wrigley. He hits a double down the LF line. The Wrigley crowd - we all gave him a standing O. He deserved it, no doubt.
  23. Yesterday, maybe. Let's see how that shakes out today and moving forward. I'm definitely classifying them differently now. I'm just a casual fan and I don't call in to radio shows, though :). I STILL hear people say "man I hate seeing the Spurs win, they are so boring". Funny because they are actually one of the more enjoyable teams to watch in the league these days. They really are. I hate watching NBA games because they tend to be so plodding and one on one, but the way the Spurs move the ball and their offense flows makes them very enjoyable to watch. My guess is that casual fans don't understand any of that and simply want to see the show time stuff. I'm going to try harder. Watching the Spurs this time was a lot of fun. And selfishly I kind of feel like the Bulls will need to follow this sort of model for awhile, and I'd obviously like it to work out.

  25. It's a path to winning that I prefer over the Heat's.
