  1. They waited just long enough to be sure he had fallen off the cliff. And still got Lackey.
  2. Holy crap the Cards are the best franchise in history at getting whatever good will come from a player and then dumping them as soon as he won't do it anymore.
  3. Which studies, I mean there have been studies done but it doesn't take this long to read them. He's just saying stuff to say it.
  4. Agree or disagree: Bears aren't comfortable with Palmer, otherwise they would not have both drafted a QB and signed Clausen.
  5. From Tribune's sports page...caption on a Rosenbloom blog I just found the wording funny I saw the caption as well, and concluded it was more Rosenbloom click bait. So I passed on it.
  6. Admittedly, I haven't followed the Lions' offseason. Is there any particular reason why they wouldn't blow it again? It feels like people are continually picking them for better results than they actually deliver. I'd have to agree on their Packers prediction. I think the general narrative is that Schwartz didn't have control of his team and this led to the Lions collapsing the last 2 seasons. Jim Caldwell is supposedly a players coach who will keep them steady and let their talent shine. Or something like that. And they signed Golden Tate to take less pressure off of Megatron. Not saying I buy it necessarily, its just what I've seen out there. Is Jim Caldwell the stare into nothing guy who "led" the Colts? Yes. Color me a little skeptical.
  7. Meatball dammit LOL. It's time for you to put this in your sig.

  9. Not brilliant at all. Lol It's pretty standard clickbait stuff. It only works for a while before people stop believing your headlines and ignore your site. Or so I'd like to believe. Then Banedon comes along and immediately boosts the click count by 20 or 30.
  10. What are they saying to him? Calm down? That's pretty dumb.
  11. While I get the sentiment, there are definitely lots of people who really do hate him. And they are terrible human beings. I have talked to some people on FB who still pine for "dat McGowen" who left for Tampa Hehe. Let's see, the 3 great failures of Chicago Bears fans: 1) Valuation of personality traits over football traits. 2) Thinking Bears history should be carried forward forever. Because "Bears football" is a trademark, or something I guess. 3) Talking with other Bears fans who think this way, which allows #1 and #2 to proliferate. Don't do it, man.
  12. I'm in a daze now, after reading that Mel Hall article. Unreal.
  13. That was a fun read. Thx.
  14. 3 types of people in Chicago: 1) Those who love Jay Cutler 2) Those who can't admit they love Jay Cutler 3) Those who dooooon't caaaare (population: 1)

    Rizzo

It's obviously all the homers he would have hit during the derby.
  16. that's a giant [expletive] IsoD for Castro Rest him occasionally? 162 games in 2012, 161 in '13. 98 so far this year.
  17. Yeah to me as well but I'm also pretty clueless.
  18. Oh, Bears history is replete with examples of training camp glory - unrealized once real football started.

    Rizzo

OK, that was reasonably humorous. :D
  20. Training camp for me: first few days are usually fun. Then a lot of blah. I'll watch a couple of the preseason games as a distraction. I usually can't get them except online anyway, unless it's on DVR which sucks.
  21. It's the "Skip Bayless" playbook for sports writing, or something. He hears a quote in the newspaper where another player mentions Chicago and then writes the obligatory "trade for him" piece. I feel like I've seen this same story a hundred times.
  22. God. You did?
  23. WUT. How long has it been since he was mentioned around these parts? Suddenly he comes out of the woodwork. Crazy.
  24. LOL, you went all banner-gif freakout before there were animated gifs to post.
