  1. As baffling as Bregman has been for the Cubs, Bo Bichette has been for the Mets. @Tangled Up in Plaidthrowing you a thumbs up in the category of “it’s not just the Cubs” but more in the acquisitions area than injuries. The similarities are there.
  2. So it’s no surprise the Dodgers top the list. I don’t think that’s a great way to analyze the on-the-field impact of injuries versus other teams.
  3. We found out a guy sucks, and still won. ++ night
  4. Mets manager busy trying to figure out how to challenge his team’s suckage tonight.
  5. I feel like we could go back and find dozens of examples where it wasn’t given a second thought. It was a walk. Dude gets 2nd base. Done.
  6. 40+ pitches, he’s lucky it isn’t 5-5 right now.
  7. Bregman doesn’t make any sense. He’s very consistently been well above the average as a hitter and he’s just a guy now, almost 3 months in. Yeah he’s changed leagues and I expected an adjustment period but not this long. I don’t know how we can expect Jed to know this would happen. He put up a 130 OPS+ last season and he’s at 99 as of now. That 130 was his 4th best in a 10 year career. He SHOULD be producing. Whether you liked the signing or not it’s pretty bizarre how this has turned out.
  8. But an understandable, if not entirely sane, reaction from a fan standpoint. To call the Cubs a MASH unit would be an understatement. Is there a point where it’s no longer just random? I don’t know. But man it’s so horsefeathers frustrating.
  9. Good. Father’s Day without stupid sports stress. I’m hanging out with my dog. Life is good.
  10. I don’t know man, I remember every bit of that 10 game losing streak. Then again I tend to ruminate a lot. Today is just indicative of why we are 3 over .500 and not 15 over. It’s not really a complete team. Too many moves didn’t work. Too many injuries. We get the offense humming a little then blow a good lead late. This is who they are.
  11. Battle of the bad. Need to keep the hot bats hot. Going to take north of 5 runs to win this one.
