  1. What an incredible waste. This "Cub fan" thing. How do I find a cure?
  2. Just shoot me now.
  3. The Bulls really needed to win one in Miami last year. That's the beauty of home court. Yeah, but I don't want this thing to go to 7. I'm not sure my poor, tired heart can take it
  4. That could be, but a big problem is Jacque was shopped all offseason with no luck, and after the season last year his numbers were pretty good. His value should have been high (for him). Now, he's just sucking again in April. But you could be right, they might be showcasing him.
  5. Not to dampen the enthusiasm, but the Bulls have blown a 2-0 lead before in the playoffs, and the Heat were left for dead in the finals last year too. The Bulls really need to win one in Miami. This isn't over quite yet.
  6. It seems to me if Z hits the open the market the Yankees will snap him up quick. I guess if we could get a couple good prospects for Z, then it would be better than nothing. I think talk of ARod/Z or something similar is probably way optimistic now though.
  7. I hate to bug out in April, but I'm inclined to agree. With the glut in the outfield, it's starting to look like a case where no matter what Lou wants, the facts outweigh it and Murton's just not going to find the starting lineup most days. Murton: play him or get something for him. Either way, it needs to happen sooner rather than later because we're dropping like wet noodle.
  8. And more than one season has ended in April. I'll never understand why Cubs fans get so uptight when other Cubs fans start to panic after a horrible start to the season. i'll never understand why cubs fans get so uptight 1)on april 24th, specifically after the cubs have been close in most of their games 2)when other cubs fans get uptight about other cubs fans' panicking but then again i'll never understand why cubs fans exist at all. Well, for me it's the brick wall factor. The Cubs do this most years. They tank. A bad April is usually not indicative of a playoff team on the North Side. So it's a little odd (to me) that some people express disbelief at someone who is panicing. I wouldn't say I'm "uptight" that fans challenge the negativity, but just as you don't understand why people get uptight, I have difficulty understanding how anyone could think this year will be different after 100 years of madness.
  9. Good. Unless the Cubs can not pay him ace money, I don't want him. It's very strange, but I find myself more excited about the potential to trade Zambrano for some high-end prospects than anything else about the Cubs' season. The sad part about that is that they probably wont even attempt to trade him and he will walk at the end of the year with us having gotten nothing for him. :( Is a possible scenario that we trade Big Z by the deadline for 2 high prospects (either pitcher or fielder). Big Z doesn't like the team he gets traded to, realizes that he'd like a reprieve w/ the Cubs and we re-sign him. Can this happen? Has it happended before? ponson did it a few years back. can't think of anyone on z's level that has done it, though. Why would anyone trade for Z when they can get him for nothing after the season? He's surely not going to be signed by the Cubs with the sale pending. I find it highly likely that we get zilch for Z. Unless that said team is trying to make the playoffs and would need a pitcher like Z. Happens every year... Then it would have to be for prospects. No team is giving us someone like ARod or Cabrera at the deadline if they're trying to make the playoffs.
  10. I posted this in another thread, but I must be really missing something (not a suprise I'm not a real contract/MLB transactions kind of guy). I don't understand why a team would throw us their best players or prospects for Z when he's going to be a FA at season's end anyway. They would still need to resign the guy for incredible money. Are they just going to give us a guy like Cabrera so he doesn't hit the market? That seems like a pretty steep price to pay.

  12. Please don't lose Bulls. Once your gone, it's only the Cubs.......and suicide.
  13. Sadly, it appears that even though Lou promised Murton he would get him more playing time, he's going back on it. I wouldn't care if Jones never played another game as a Cub. I see little reason to play him over Murton. I guess it's because he's a lefty. I thought Floyd would see the bench more, and it seems he has a little bit more. No one's grabbed more bench than Murton though. Christ, it seems like Cedeno is playing more. This team was put together like a bad erector set project gone terribly wrong. Now Lou isn't able to get players the play time they need to develop, and crusty vets with no purpose are out there sucking. This is wonderful. Your 2007 Cubs, ladies and gentlemen.
  14. At this rate, we'll be 10 under by next week.
  15. Ignoring a talk show host is one thing. Ignoring a 7-12 start, last in a terrible division? Much different, indeed. I'm certainly not ignoring the bad start (which is now 7-13). I'm just being a little more pragmatic. As should a lot of other posters. No. We shouldn't. Yes we should. Why should we? What makes you think this is any different than the other hundred seasons of failure?
  16. Should we be happy?
  17. I don't know, but that's a good point. What can he say? They got plastered in pretty much any category. I'll just be interested to hear if he admits Deng is a great player.
  18. you wouldn't, by chance, be the same Soul who completely wrote off this team after the season finale in New jeresy, would you? They've got a long way to go to get to the conference finals, woody. just throwing it out there. and I don't think you mentioned the conference finals: Um, I was speaking in the context of having an easy road to the conference finals versus Heat/Detroit, but don't let that stop you.
  19. And free Big Macs for all :D

  21. remember how many Bulls fans hated him when we drafted him? little did they know Im not gonna lie, I wanted Iguodala badly. Thank God Paxson is the GM and not me. Deng is gonna be a superstar. Yep, and soooooo glad he didn't trade Deng for Mr. sleepyhead Gasol.
  22. Bulls have never played a better 3rd quarter than tonight, and they're totally rocking right now. This is some of the best Bulls basketball I've seen all year, and it's in the playoffs. Very nice.
  23. I feel better now that Posey decided to try and be a 3-point hero and couldn't make it.
  24. Alright, come on now. The Heat are *obviously* flopping all over the place, as if they know the officials will give them calls.
  25. And the officals strike AGAIN.
