  1. Christ almighty. Can someone please get one [expletive] out?
  2. No doubt. Hello? There's 2 freaking outs. GET THE DAMN OUT.
  3. I hope so. With any luck we can just let him rot on the bench for the rest of the year. Woody looked better last night. Just make Howry/Marmol the closer tandem and Woody's your setup guy. Screw Dempster. He's been a 3-run walkoff waiting to happen all year. Just been lucky when he closes, it won't last. He'll blow at least a couple down the stretch if we try to use him there.
  4. Demp is just horrible. What a clown.
  5. LMAO. Dempster shouldn't close EITHER game tomorrow people. Just use him up tonight and bench his sorry ass. I'd like to win tomorrow, thanks.
  6. Nope. And that's why it wouldn't be good to have him close twice tomorrow. He might blow both of 'em.
  7. Marmol, and it would be a good thing. This is not a bad decision, IMO.
  8. Just throw strikes dammit. Pujols can't hurt you with a solo shot.
  9. I think the Cards' outfield was playing a bit too far in. It wasn't Kendall at the plate anymore Tony.
  10. YEEEEEEAAAHHHHH! God I LOVE FREAKING WARD MAN!! :D :D
  11. Crafty LaRussa. That was done on purpose to get Z out of there.
  12. LOL, cards announcer: "Rick has a chance to continue the storybook story." Yeah, um right. You mean an addendum to Canseco's "Juiced?" Sure.
  13. I dunno....one run lead doesn't seem like it's gonna do it even though it's Z. It's too close!
  14. Pretty old, well-discussed question. I believe there is some pretty good data that shows sliding slows you down, and should only be done to avoid the tag. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Does_sliding_into_a_base_make_you_reach_base_faster haha, this can't be legit Yeah that's just pretty much some moron blabbing.

  16. Another crappy bounce. Great job DLee. This is it man. If you could somehow hold this one run lead the Cards season is effectively over. Cards' announcers pretty much just said the same thing last inning.
  17. Uncle Cliffy!!! Time to blow this damn thing open once and for all.
  18. Ehhh....I think Lou's been doing an alright job of giving guys rest throughout the year. Nobody should tap into the "Lou tired them out" excuse if we don't make it. At least not positionally.
  19. Did no one find my hijack of the Wizard of Oz to be clever? Not even one? *sniffles* *kicks a stone* *walks away mumbling to himself*
  20. I'll bet my bottom dollar if we're within a game of 1st place that house will be full of Cubbie blue.
  21. Back in the early 80's Wrigley was pretty empty. I remember buying the cheapest seats and moving to box seats. Everything changed after 1984. The CUBS had a lot of crowds in the hundreds back in the early/mid sixties. Gave the fans a chance to get to know the players !! The Cards are dead. Long live the Cards !!! I remember a few empty houses when I was a kid. Everything did seem to change in 1984. I don't remember anything quite this bad though, and obviously it wasn't like the Cubs were only 4 years removed from a World Championship. Marlins fans just aren't very good. I guess they've got other things to do, but still. I would think just watching the Sept. callups develop would draw more than that to the ballpark. Aren't there any Marlins fans who follow the minors and look for the young players to start developing?
  22. Worst fans in baseball, always have been ever since they came in. The Marlins' article claims 10,000 -- obviously almost all no-shows. It would be cool to go to a game like this though, wouldn't it? You'd probably be able to hear what the players were saying on the field, you could literally sit wherever the hell you wanted. There would probably be an echo when a hitter cracked a line drive. Surreal.
  23. Ankiel gets ahold of one....it's back, back...... ..dies on the warning track, game over. Mwahahahaah.
  24. Ding Dong! The Cards are dead. Which old Cards? The Wicked Cards! Ding Dong! The Wicked Cards are dead. Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed. Wake up, the Wicked Cards are dead. They're gone where the goblins go, Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out. Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low. Let them know The Wicked Cards are dead!
