Has Bruce or anyone commented on the "MLB preventing Cuban buying the team" theory? Do you guys really think that Cuban would really attend a game and sit in the bleachers, if he had no chance at buying the team? It seems to me that the Tribune would want to get as much money as possible for the team, and that an owner like Cuban would be good for the league. The Cubs telling Comcast to keep him off the air certainly does nothing to dispute the idea. Several of the articles that dismiss practically any possibility that Cuban would be approved by the MLB owners cite league sources. Who knows what the hell that means, but the idea certainly seems to hold water. He only needs 75% approval, though, right? That means 23 teams in favor. We know Reinsdorf is a "no." I'd guess Angelos, too. Who else? I have to admit, I don't know a whole lot about the politics of MLB owners. I don't know either, but if the Trib is really trying to squelch the Cuban bid then we definitely need Bruce to step up and write a good article for the PEOPLE! Bruce! Bruce! Bruce!
