  1. 5* RB Derrick Green just committed to Michigan over Tennessee. That's a big loss considering he's a guy Dooley had pretty strongly considering us. I'm still waiting on Butch Jones to do something that impresses me.
  2. Yeah, I don't know either. I was just throwing that out there in case he could come up with a reason.
  3. There's some on the depth chart - we've got Nathan Peterman (rs-fr) who likely will be the starter and Justin Worley (Jr.) is a nice QB who doesn't really fit what Butch Jones likes to do. We also have 4* Riley Ferguson committed and the staff apparently likes him, but my inclination is that Kiel would be better than him. From what I remember about Kiel (very good arm, good mobility) I think he'd have a real chance to start this year if he can get a hardship and may still have a chance to start next year if Peterman doesn't blow up. Apparently the rumor includes Kiel liking Tennessee's new OC Mike Bajakian, so that's the tie to him wanting to come to UT.
  4. ND fans, I just heard a rumor that Gunner Kiel is considering transferring to Tennessee. I'm guessing this is just a crap rumor, but do ya'll know of any truth to Kiel even considering transferring?
  5. Yeah, he did. Bruce Drennan had a massive rant about him around the time he left the Indians organization.
  6. i don't understand why this is exciting without knowing any other details. For me, it's that the Theo regime has been so picky about what they get in return for Soriano. If they're really close to trading him, I trust that they're not giving in too much.
  7. Out of curiosity, who are those two? I do agree that there are very few guys I'd actually feel have earned a top 5 pick, I do think there are guys with the talent to be top 5 guys, but have too many questions to be legit top 5 guys - Bray, C Patterson, Hunter, Ansah, Barkley, John Jenkins, for example.
  8. I've said it before but I will lose it like I never have before if Jones is available to the Titans in the 2nd and we pass on him. He's exactly what we need and I like him better than Dallas Thomas.
  9. Werner actually sounds a bit like Vanden Bosch - a hard working overachiever. KVB was fun to have in his prime, but I wouldn't bank on a lot of success stories like him.
  10. drafting jefferson in the top 3 rounds would be a mistake. i cant see a scenario where he's not there in the 5th round Didn't realize that. I'm not real familiar with Jefferson, I was primarily happy about getting a safety relatively early.
  11. Dee Milliner - Dallas Thomas - Tony Jefferson as the Titans' first 3 picks would be a fantastic draft. No chance that happens, though. And I'd much rather see a raw, high upside pass rusher in the 4th in that scenario rather than Montee Ball.
  12. He apparently loved his visit to UT over the weekend and new WR recruit Ryan Jenkins is apparently working him really hard to commit to UT. We seem to have made up a ton of ground, but he's still taking his AU visit and nobody seems to really know what he's thinking. That mesh with what you're hearing?
  13. While the last part may or may not be accurate (never proven, for sure), I don't think Ray Lewis has ever been convicted of a felony.
  14. Its a good hire but Marinelli fell in his lap. Good point.
  15. Jerry Jones is getting serious. Marinelli as D-Line coach is a really good hire.
  16. I can't imagine money was a deciding factor here. The Eagles don't really have a wildly free-spending owner and Oregon has Phil Knight passing out money like candy (to coaches and probably players). I don't know that he's likely to get far more in Philly than Oregon would have offered. I'd guess it's either a control thing or sanctions.
  17. So much for staying at Oregon. I wonder if be got wind of major sanctions that were about to hit.
  18. All 3 teams that have yet to hire a head coach - Cardinals, Jaguars, Eagles - as well as the Browns (I think) and Chargers. There's also the possibility a team gets smart and realizes Lovie would be better than their current DC (Titans) and make a change.
  19. I still think Lovie winds up as a defensive coordinator somewhere. Teams would be dumb not to hire him and it'd be easier for Lovie to leave a DC position after one year than a college HC job.
  20. Nice move. Especially good considering their previous coach was Norv Turner.
  21. I'm pretty sure he can do both. His dad, Buddy, was famous for the 46 Bear defense and passed it along to Fisher. I don't think Rob Ryan would fit into a Cover-2 scheme or anything, but I think he'd fit well with Fisher.
  22. There are reports that the Rams are going to hire Rob Ryan as their new DC. Pairing Fisher and Ryan would be a great move by the Rams.
  23. If Barrett Jones is available for the Titans in the 2nd round and they don't take him, I may lose it. He's exactly what we need.
  24. I'm hoping Texas hires Muschamp next year and the Cowboys hire Saban, getting both of them out of the SEC (and hurting both Alabama and Florida). I doubt Saban's and Jerry's egos fit together, though.
  25. That's the truly amazing thing about Saban's success - he's either run clean programs at LSU and Alabama or he's done a better job than anybody else at hiding it.
