  1. They could trade all of that, take Geno Smith and still not have a QB. Geno's a nice QB but there's no chance I trade that much for him. If you need a QB this year, chances are you're going to need one again next year - these guys aren't that great. I like the later round QBs (Bray, Manuel, etc) as much as the 1st round guys. None of them are immediate starters.
  2. Chris Gamble retired today. Seems kinda crazy.
  3. He wanted the Seahawks primarily. I can flip you over to San Diego if you want, though.
  4. I gave you the lead of the Bears. I think we should wait to start doubling up, but I'll keep you in mind if we do.
  5. The draft order I found on NFL.com was wrong. Strange..... EDIT: Should be fixed now. If there's anything still wrong, somebody let me know.
  6. Found this pretty interesting. The charts with the percentages are at the link. Pretty good stuff, it seems.
  7. I figure we can start a day or two after we get at least 1 person per team. I went ahead and kept the setup the same as it's been since there wasn't a strong push to change anything.
  8. ManCrushonNomar - what team would you like? I know you've done the Dolphins before, do you want in with Warpticon on them or do you want another team?
  9. Alright, it's time to get this thing going again. Basically, the premise is this: 1. We'll need at least one person for each of the 30 teams. 2.The first person will be the person of record for that team, but it might be fun to have a bit of a "war room" type of activity. We'll limit War Rooms to five per team. 3. War Rooms participants should share IM names and might want to form a private chat room to discuss their selections. It is recommended that War Rooms take a vote on picks after the discussion and allow the person of record make the pick. If a consensus cannot be reached, the first person to sign up for each team will make the final decision. 4. Picks will be made in real-time, with a set amount of time between picks. After that time ends, a pick will be made for that team. Each slot will have 24 hours to make a pick. (Idea and wording courtesy of vance_the_cubs_fan) Posters can double and triple up if there's a need - I'd like to have more than one for most, if not all, the teams out there. If anybody has any suggestions, post in this thread or you can PM me. Also, I'll try to keep a running list of the next 3 picks coming up - if you have any question whatsoever about your ability to make your pick when your turn comes up, PM me with your top 3 (or so) choices and I'll announce your pick if you can't. If you want to take one of the teams, post it in here or PM me and I'll update the list. And here's the list thus far: War Rooms Patriots: Splendid Splinter Dolphins: Warpticon Bills: UK Jets: goony Steelers: WrigleyField 22 Ravens: WrigleyField 22 Browns: gorbs27 Bengals: davell Colts: ManCrushonNomar Titans: dew Jaguars: dew Texans: rawaction Broncos: cubbyvirus Chargers: raw Raiders: cubbyvirus00 Chiefs: Tiger Cowboys: vance Eagles: goony Giants: goony Redskins: davell Vikings: hawkeyecub Bears: Raisin, davell Lions: sneakypower Packers: dew Panthers: Andy Falcons: Vanilla Ice Buccaneers: Vanilla Ice Saints: OleMissCub 49ers: Raisin Cardinals: UK Rams: Formerly Snayke Seahawks: sulley ROUND 2 ROUND 3 1 (63) Chiefs - DJ Swearinger, S, South Carolina 2 (64) Jaguars - David Amerson, CB, NC State 3 (65) Lions - Robert Woods, WR, USC 4 (66) Raiders - Darius Slay, CB, Mississippi St 5 (67) Eagles - Quinton Patton, WR, Louisiana Tech 6 (68) Browns - DJ Hayden, CB, Houston 7 (69) Cardinals - Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas 8 (70) Titans - Bacarri Rambo, S, Georgia 9 (71) Bills - Terrence Williams, WR, Baylor 10 (72) Jets - Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse 11 (73) Buccaneers - Jordan Poyer, CB, Oregon St 12 (74) 49ers (from Panthers) - Phillip Thomas, S, Fresno St 13 (75) Saints - Bennie Logan, DT, LSU 14 (76) Chargers - Logan Ryan, CB, Rutgers 15 (77) Dolphins - Brennan Williams, OL, UNC 16 (78) Rams - Da'Rick Rogers, WR, TN Tech 17 (79) Steelers - Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon St 18 (80) Cowboys - Shamarko Thomas, S, Syracuse 19 (81) Giants - Sio Moore, LB, UConn 20 (82) Dolphins (from Bears) - Cornelius Washington, DE, Georgia 21 (83) Vikings - Tyrann Mathieu, CB, LSU 22 (84) Bengals - Montee Ball, RB, Wisconsin 23 (85) Redskins - TJ McDonald, S, USC 24 (86) Colts - Montori Hughes, DT, Tennessee Martin 25 (87) Seahawks - Cory Lemonier, DE/OLB, Auburn 26 (88) Packers - Tony Jefferson, S, Oklahoma 27 (89) Texans - Jordan Mills, OT, Louisiana Tech 28 (90) Broncos - Le'Veon Bell, RB, Michigan St 29 (91) Patriots - Ryan Swope, WR, TAMU 30 (92) Falcons - Gavin Escobar, TE, Stanford 31 (93) 49ers - Stedman Bailey, WR, West Virginia 32 (94) Ravens - David Quesenberry, OL, SJSU 33 (95) Texans (compensatory selection) - Jordan Reed, TE, Florida 34 (96) Chiefs (compensatory selection) - Brian Schwenke, OL, California 35 (97) Titans (compensatory selection) - Kiko Alonso, LB, Oregon Draft sites of interest: NFL Draft Countdown National Football Post - Russ Lande Walter Football Football's Future Mel Kiper and Todd McShay at ESPN NFL.com Combine site Draft Tek Mocks of the past: 2008 mock draft 2009 mock draft 2010 mock draft 2011 mock draft 2012 mock draft
  10. People's worlds are being shattered. Including mine - I'll never accept tomatoes and peppers as fruits (or berries). It's just not right.
  11. Wow, I didn't realize that. I knew he was primarily used as a receiver, but I thought he was coming from the line more often.
  12. Ah, hadn't heard about his plans to go to arbitration. I knew they played him out wide some, but didn't figure it'd be nearly enough to consider him a WR. That makes I a tad more murky but I'd still tag him.
  13. Wow, that's a really bad decision. I really doubt Cook will sign long term with us so a team with lots of holes and plenty of cap space just added another hole. So glad Bud kept Munchak..... They probably don't want to go thorugh with the fight over what position he qualifies for, and that makes around a $4M difference. To my knowledge he's never played anything but TE in the NFL so I'm not sure what the fight would be over. The number I've seen quoted would be a lot for him but not excessive by any stretch.

  15. don't let people who only check the board once a week participate Problem is, I don't know how often people check the board. Some of the guys who never post are the quickest to pick, so I wouldn't know who to keep out. Maybe do something like fantasy drafts do and if you miss a pick then for your next one we take suggestions from the populace at large and make a pick after 6 hours or so?
  16. Should we adjust the amount of time each team has to pick? People were complaining last year over too much time between picks, what are some thoughts on how we should handle that?
  17. I was actually about to post something about that and see when people wanted to start. We've begun too early in the past, so I was thinking we might wait a little while extra to get started but wasn't sure when a good time would be. Thoughts everybody?
  18. Milliner was really impressive, as was Sharrif Floyd. There's got to be a way for the Titans to snag one of them.
  19. So much for not giving up too much. That's way too much for a mediocre QB like Smith.
  20. [expletive] So long as they don't give up much, Smith wouldn't be an awful placeholder since the QB class is so poor. If they did something like acquiring Smith, drafting Joeckel and then grabbing a Bray or Manuel (depending on the style they're looking for) later might be the best course.
  21. Tennessee's best coach and recruiter, Jay Graham, just left UT for Florida State. Seminoles are getting a terrific coach and the hits just keep coming for the Vols. Hopefully the bottom falls out of this thing quick so that they'll replace Jimmy Cheek with somebody who puts an emphasis on winning football games.
  22. Wow, how bad is this for Lotulelei I wonder?
  23. McCalebb's official 40: 4.34. Still really good, but CJ's record is still safe.
  24. Onterrio McCalebb ran unofficial times of 4.27 and 4.21 according to NFL Network.
