  1. We can't trade Lee anyway without his consent. He has both a no trade clause and 10/5 rights, so he's staying unless he says otherwise - and he rejected the idea of a trade last offseason. I'd be fine with Figgins as a possibility, but price will play a big part in it. I wouldn't pay a lot for him, but if we could get him at a decent price, I'd be fine with him. Unspectacular? He's one of the two or three best centerfielders in the game this season. His .819 OPS is 4th best of all major league centerfielders with at least 300 ABs. He's definitely not overpaid at this point.
  2. Jags acquire QB Luke McCown from the Bucs for an undisclosed pick.
  3. Figured it out I think - Sept. 10-20. I'm assuming they wouldn't be sell outs, but does anybody have any idea how tickets work? Could I just go to the window and buy them, or would it have to be done online?
  4. I couldn't watch the game. How good is Richmond? How did Duke look? I didn't see the game, but Richmond is a 1-AA National Championship contender.
  5. I'd love to see that. Especially if they played it on the blue turf.
  6. i'm sure he will end up going to a great team after this season. If his draft stock drops even a little, he will almost certainly end up in a better situation. He could end up as a 49er throwing to Crabtree. And Josh Morgan with Gore in the backfield. That'd be a nice core for San Fran.
  7. so he's going to miss part of the season and their chances of winning a title are almost gone. wonder if he's wishing he'd gone pro. Probably not, as he would be on the Lions. i'm sure he will end up going to a great team after this season. 8. I need to start looking into Smokies playoff tickets. When do the playoffs start?
  9. yep, chattanooga lost so they're out. the smokies need to win once to clinch a playoff spot; i assume they'd be in a one-game playoff if they lose both. Yeah, one game playoff if they lose both. I think it would be played in Jackson because of the coin toss, but I'm not positive.
  10. Smokies win 3-1! Two game lead now with two to play, I believe?
  11. so he's going to miss part of the season and their chances of winning a title are almost gone. wonder if he's wishing he'd gone pro. An injury that hurts his overall numbers could hurt his draft stock too.
  12. If they go undefeated and there's (mass?) chaos at the top . . . maybe. i dunno, say BYU runs the table with wins at oklahoma and home wins over utah, tcu and fsu. isn't that more impressive than a team like penn st going undefeated with home wins over ohio st and iowa and road wins over michigan st and michigan? i'd say that BYU deserves it. The most deserving team doesn't always make the title game in this system. They have to impress the voters and hope there are no other unbeaten major conference teams (or at least, not more than one). An unbeaten BYU would have the resume, but would they get the opportunity? That's where they need chaos at the top.
  13. Schlitter in to save it. Carrera grounds out. One down.
  14. Preliminary report on Bradford: sprained AC joint. Not season ending, but could be 2-4 weeks they say.
  15. Canzler and Castillo ground out. Thomas Ks. Bottom of the 9th, still 3-1 Smokies.
  16. If they go undefeated and there's (mass?) chaos at the top . . . maybe.
  17. Mateo recovers nicely, retiring the next three hitters. Going to the 9th, Smokies still lead 3-1.
  18. Kick is no good, wide left. BYU's ball with 1:23 left in the game, up 14-13. OU has one timeout left.
  19. 4th and 14 for OU from around BYU's 35 or so. They have to go for it here. EDIT: Correction, they're kicking a 50-something yard field goal.
  20. Marcos Mateo replaces Cashner in the eighth and Matt Mangini homers to center. 3-1 Smokies.
  21. Top 8 Mota walks on 10 pitches. Thomas pinch runs for Mota. Guyer bunt single. Mota to second. None out. Aducci sacrifices the runners over. One out. M. Smith singles to center. Thomas scores, Guyer to third. 2-0 TN. Lalli reaches on scoring error, Guyer scores. Smith to third. 3-0 TN. Colvin Ks swinging. Two out. Castro Ks looking. Heading to the bottom of the 8th, TN leads 3-0.
  22. McKay Jacobson was left wide open in the back of the end zone on third and goal. TD BYU. They lead 14-13 with 3:03 left.
  23. OU PI (iffy call), 1st and goal BYU from the 2.
  24. On third and 8, BYU runs a draw to pick up three. They then hurried to the line and Hall hit Pitta to move down to the OU 7 yard line. First and goal BYU with OU still up 13-7.
