  1. I'm rooting for 2 BCS bids for the SEC as well. Either way, I expect UK to end up at the Music City. If somehow only 1 SEC gets a BCS bid, UK might end up at the Independence Bowl.
  2. At this stage, block better and become a better rec. out of the backfield. Imo, he's a better blocker than Jones already. At contact, they're pretty close, as far as knowing which guy to pick up and when to chip a guy, I think Jones has a better concept when to leak out of the backfield.

  4. They've had a supbar game and a terrible 4th quarter.Right by holding the pats to 17 points they stunk it up. Yes, they did and I didn't say stunk it up (you added glitz for effect), but it was subpar for them. NE was careless with the ball, not as bad as the Bears but pretty close. They allowed too many yards and when the game tied, got manhandled when NE drove it down their throats.

  6. Playing too far off, I wish Tillman would press more at the line.
  7. The D-Line has terrible as far as getting pressure after about the 1st 4-5 weeks.
  8. I don't see how that's a bad decision. It wasn't 4th and short. If your defense can't get a stop here you don't deserve to win anyway. W/out an onside kick, there isn't enough time for them to do it.
  9. Lovie is not a good in game coach. I expect them to not onside kick it. One first down and it's prob. over.
  10. I like Aikman, Buck is pretty bad at both baseball and football. He should be thanking nepotism every morning.
  11. Benson should be getting the bulk of the carries today, he has been more effective. I still don't know why they use Jones on 3rd and short and near the goal line. Jones should get the 1st shot to see if he's effective, but if by half it becomes clear that Benson's style suits the flow of the game, why be so stubborn and stick Jones out there? Jones hasnt been that bad. But the game plan against a 3-4 is to run between the tackes and benson is the man for that. They are calling all the right run plays but there is a little disconnect on the correct running back for the gameplan. Im really happy with the run game plan today, but the execution is even better, Exactly, those DEs for NE are so far outside that they have to slam up the middle and it just doesn't Jones as much as Cedric.

  13. Would've, could've, should've. The game was 10-10 at the start of the 4th and the Bears defense got abused on the drive.
  14. That's been happening more often lately. Maybe if the offense wasn't always giving away points, every series wouldn't be so crucial. Offense had nothing to do with them being able to stuff it down their throats on that drive.
  15. I can't believe Mike Brown means this much to the defense.
  16. I prefer accuracy of a throw more than arm strength even with a RF'er. Manny probably does have below avg. arm strength for a RF'er, it can be restricted better in LF not having to throw to 3B on a line. His lack of range and poor ability to get an early read on a fly ball in one of the most diff. areas to play OF in the majors (RF) is why it would be hard to swallow as far as him in RF. Obviously, you find a way to trade for him (within reason) and stick him in the OF.
  17. Since when could Theriot play CF? Since he reminded me of Ryan Freel last year. Hell, they had Soriano and now Lugo there and they haven't done it either. Or get Brady Clark, I don't care. The point is how come no one's talking about Lofton; he's an ideal one year guy. Lofton would be a great option for the cubs. He would probably put up a similar OPS+ to Jones, trading some power for OBP. He would also most likely hit second pushing DeRosa to the bottom of the order, which is a good idea. He would also be slightly cheaper, and then hopefully we could trade Jones, something of value. However, it all depends on if he will sign a 1 yr deal and how much he likes Chicago. I'd like to see Lofton again as well, but maybe Bruce can answer this better than me, how was he in the clubhouse? According to Schuerholz, he was known as being extremely selfish. I hated him when he played for Arizona in basketball. I wonder if he was selfish or the only guy to stand up to Sosa? Well, if he was selfish while in Atlanta, I doubt Sosa had anything to do with it. It does sound like an interesting clash though.

  19. How has Kiffin's play calling been for USC? It's been getting better, it's helped that Chauncey Washington and CJ Gable have stepped up and given USC solid running backs. He started out too pass-happy, but that could be because Washington was banged up and they had a limited running game to start the season. I'd take Kiffin over Svoboda (UCLA's OC) any day of the week. I think I can do better play calling than Svoboda. The few USC games that I saw, I thought he did a good job of play calling. Although Brooks will be back for UK, he would've been one of 1st choices. USC fans have not been too supportive of Kiffin from what I gathered, of course, they're using Chow as the measuring stick.

  21. UK played well today vs. UT losing 17-12, best defensive performance of the year. Would've been nice to win and get to the Outback Bowl.
  22. It depends on how you look at it, if you've ever seen a scout's evaluation on a player, the meat of the report is numerical (hitting, raw power, speed, arm strength, and defense as well as for pitchers) the rest is descriptive about things that do not need to be in numerical form (body, work ethic, maturity, dedication, etc.)

  24. I would consider focusing more on player development in the minors (over the last 5 years) as well as maintaining the same intensity as far as international FAs as options the Cubs could've used but did not. I can agree with that. We have some nice arms(Gallagher, Veal) but what do we have position player wise? Pie? It is not looking to good in that aspect. Pie, Colvin, Patterson, Moore. It isn't nearly as good as it should be for a team that w/the resources of the Cubs.
