  1. What a fantastic B-Day gift that would make for me, to have Dusty headed out of town.... You didn't get that girl in the big cake I sent you?! Hmm, wonder who did? Thanks a lot. My wife is pretty ticked off right now. However, she was friggin' hot man!!! =P~ Thanks I do what I can.
  2. Right. I don't want Tracy, I just want to get rid of Baker. I'd think my signature, which I've had for a long time now, would pretty much signal that..... OHHHHHHHHH. You don't like Dusty. Now your sig makes sense!
  3. Girardi would be nice. I just think that Piniella is a has-been, who would be just as frustrating as Dusty in many ways.
  4. Here's my team: CF: Lofton RF: Giles LF: Murton SS: Nomar 3B: Ramirez 1B: Lee C: Barrett 2B: BILL MUELLER!!! SP: Prior SP: Z SP: Maddux SP: Williams/Wood SP: Burnett RP: Williams/Wood RP: Dotel RP: Ohman RP: Wuertz RP: Dempster RP: Chad Bradford Bench Hairston 2B/CF Cedeno SS/2B Grieve OF Cruz Jr. OF (though that might be tough, he had a great year) Blanco Branyan
  5. Pass. I think RFK helped him out a lot. Good call, shoulda thought of that!
  6. I'm just curious, but why is Jim Tracy such a hot name around here. I mean, he gets my vote because he isn't Dusty, but, does he have a better understanding of OBP and how to use it? Or is he just a better in-game manager?
  7. What about Loaiza if you can get him cheap, say below 3 mil?
  8. Unless something has changed since June, apparently they believe he'll be ready. My guess is that if things go slowly, he could be looking at being ready around the All-Star Break. Either way, a Dotel-Dempster back-end of the bullpen would be very nice. Sweet! An added bonus in my mind would be having Dotel in the 8th inning where I think he is more comfortable...like Latroy was supposed to do. Now we just gotta pray Dempster doesn't do JoBo...

  10. Wow that's interesting. I thought he was DePo's guy?
  11. I loveD Dotel, but will he be ready next year? Or are looking at midseason?
  12. He doesn't really walk enough, but during his time in the league, there haven't been many leadoff guys better than Ichiro!.
  13. Yeah, third for me, too. Castillo leading off is huge, not too mention his gold gloves. For me, all of these moves are dependent on other moves. For instance, if Hendry jumps at Lofton, then I would take Kent over Castillo. But if the leadoff hitter problem doesn't get solved, then Castillo would be my choice. I was just thinking of how sweet a lineup of: Lofton Kent Lee Giles Ramirez Nomar Barrett looks. Man, could you imagine??
  14. You mean like last year?
  15. He also has close to 300 HRs. He's by far the best leadoff hitter ever.
  16. Yeah we could get Nen to just hang around too and play I Palindrome I. Ah, shoot, why not bring back Stan Javier, Mark Gardner, Danny Darwin and William van Landingham while we're at it? Dude! Kurt Manwaring (sp?), Robby Thompson, Matt Williams. Where are they? Hahah! Pat Sheridan, Kevin Mitchell, Brett Butler, Steve Bedrosian? I got a kick out of seeing Maddux pitch to Biggio, it was like 1989 all over again! :)
  17. Yeah we could get Nen to just hang around too and play I Palindrome I. Ah, shoot, why not bring back Stan Javier, Mark Gardner, Danny Darwin and William van Landingham while we're at it? Might as well hand us the WS rings for 2006 now, huh?
  18. D'oh! Anyone have a list of possible OFs other than the ones mentioned? For RF? They could always pick up Burnitz's option, though they'd be fools to do so. They could try and deal for Trot Nixon, if he's available. Juan Encarnacion is out there. Yeah... So, in other words, Brian Giles!! Yeah I'm sold!

  21. Who on the what now? Jive turkey.
  22. That is a good point. What will he be up to next year? Close to 2 million? Patterson made 2.8 million this year. My guess is that he'd get a pay cut next year to about 2.5, or a similar salary. If the Cubs are desparate to get rid of him though, I think he'll be gone before that decision has to be made. For 2.5 million, I'd just sign a stopgap, like Lofton. While Lofton might regress, he'd probably be cheaper, and would have an OBP above .310. God, Corey's been around for a while!
