  1. Man why you gotta be so hard on poor Bo Hart?
  2. Eh, I'd stay off of WGN, too scared of running into Hawk Harrelson.
  3. "Exile in Guyville" is a great album. But what in god's name was "Why can't I?" I think I read that she used the same song writers who do Avril Levigne stuff...so not only did she sell out, she also decided to suck.
  4. this always bothered me about the "alternative" movement of music in the '90's, the idea of "selling out" if you dont do what you did the album before, you "sold out" Danny Elfman had it right in 1979. "There's Nothing Wrong With Capatalism" Also had it right with the "Batman" soundtrack. Man that was sweet!
  5. Yeah I totally saw that! What gives Bernie!? And what was with Liz Phair singing "God Bless America." What washed up wannabe grunge act will sing at the next game? Extreme? Josh Groban was pretty good though.
  6. That falls more on the stupidity of the manager than on the players themselves. Come on, don't make it sound like Patterson, Neifi, and Macias had good or even passable OBPs. Hairston was up and down. But I'd take some one like Murton, Cedeno, or Walker over Podsednik offensively without much of a second thought. Nah I understand. My point was just that having Podsednik and his numbers in our offense this past year would have helped our team. I agree, there are plenty of folks that are better than Podsednik, but having him in CF this past year would have been beneficial to our offense.
  7. I've never seen in Hairstons stats 60 steals I dont know. wish the Cubbies were in the Series....... or 23 CS. His baserunning hurts the team. and his 60 steals help the team thats still 37+, which is well above Hairston........ Dr. PouDRE has a point. If a player steals bases at or above a 75% clip, they are benefitting their team. If not, they are hurting their team. Yet I agree with you, Posednik couldn't have hurt the Cubs if he tried. We were embarrassing at getting on base this year.
  8. I've never seen in Hairstons stats 60 steals I dont know. wish the Cubbies were in the Series....... or 23 CS. His baserunning hurts the team. But do you think he would have hurt the cubs if he was on the team this past year? I mean you know who was batting in our top two spots, and they couldn't even see pods OBP.
  9. I've never seen in Hairstons stats 60 steals I dont know. wish the Cubbies were in the Series.......  we were so close!
  10. ugh, why? No stats to back it up, but he seems to get things going for the Cards quite a bit... He gives the Cards some pretty good OBP, way better than what the Cubs have in their leadoff spot...but his defense leaves some things to be desired, and he has a complete noodle arm.
  11. ugh, why? Because he is the "Ecks" factor, duh.
  12. If you could send one Sox player, send him to a Stalin-esque reeducation camp (Stalin was a big fan of the walk, Comrade OBP, they called him) and then sign him to the Cubs, who would it be? I kinda wish we had Dye in the outfield. He isn't spectacular, but he was better than Burnitz and any other players we threw out there...
  13. Crede was is so clutch...so clutch that he managed to "hit" .252/.303/.454... GOD I HATE THE WHITE SOX.
  14. Just think how much more Hawk Harrelson will suck if these unemployed, wife beating trailer thugs win.
  15. THAT is jabroni?!~ I was wondering who the hell that was. Maaaaan.
  16. Essspin used to be cool.
  17. The batter whose goal isn't to get on base is a bad batter. edit: unless he manages to get on base despite his wishes Garth! That was a Haiku!
  18. Hopefully he gets some HOF attention. I realize he played some games in Coors, but I wonder what the Steroid stuff does to someone like Walker's stats.
  19. I was waiting for you to show up!
  20. Hahaha! I think I just heard Chris Burke tell you to keep it down. And how about Berkman? He's gets 10 HRs a year hitting "cans of corn" to the opposite field in that place. He hits those at Wrigley though too.
  21. Add me to the list. One more I grew up watching both teams, but was a cubbies fan through and through. How could you not like the 70's era sox? Fisk? Shorts? Fro's? Veeck? Come on! Sure this ver. is kinda odd, but I'm still rooting for the white hose. I determined yesterday I was rooting for the Cards as I hated the 'stros more. Wow, took me all of one day to sink that ship... Veeck was sweet. So was Disco Demolition. But they have the DH!
  22. Is it possible that the light has come on for Hendry regarding OBP? If we're throwing around the #'s, surely someone, somewhere, has called them to his attention. Please God, let this be the case. He's probably talking about Defense...
  23. Hahaha! I think I just heard Chris Burke tell you to keep it down.
  24. One hated team down, one hated team to go. As a Cubs fan, I say good job, and keep up the good work! We'll smoke you next year, but for right now, rock on!
