  1. From Rotoworld: Any ideas how he'll adjust to the American game?[/code]
  2. Eh, just for kicks. http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2664224?htv=12
  3. I have to imagine both the Orioles and the Mets could put together better proposals than the Yankees. I think if they were to land Delgado, they might try to go after a cheaper CF option, rather than Giles.
  4. Luis Castillo then, Please. Castillo Murton Lee Giles/Abreu etc Aram Bradley Barrett Cedeno Hello division title. Not with a Prior/Z/Maddux/Rusch/Hill rotation. I do like your lineup though. :) I really like Castillo. He's not much of a SB threat anymore, but his OBP and glove are solid. Meat I think we see eye-to-eye a lot on these matters. Ever look at the fact that he walks twice as many times as he Ks? He's making Tony Gwynn jealous. I think he is the most logical choice, even for JIMBO, because he provides excellent defense, speed and *cough* OBP.
  5. This could be a blessing. It could mean the only possibility for CF is Bradley. Then we would need a leadoff hitter. Todd Walker and a generic pitcher for Luis Castillo? Either keep Cedeno or get a cheap Nomar deal, get a RF bat, and we are cookin' with grease.

  7. I'm actually pretty disapointed that he let Sing exposed. The guy had a very good season last year in double A. If he had no future with the Cubs, he would have provided a good trading chip, especially to an AL team who could use him as a DH.
  8. My problem with this signing is that it is Scott Eyre who has had a few good years and one great year. I'd rather he spend the money on a more consistant reliever, who might not have had a year like Eyre did. To me it's similar to Hendry's rationale for signing Burnitz, completely overlooking where Burnitz played and how he had played every other year.
  9. We all know about Giles' upsides. He has a tremendous batting eye, walks a ton, left handed, plays good defense. But if you were going to pass on him, as it looks like Hendry might do, why would you? Age? Declining skills? And if you wouldn't sign him, who would you get to replace JerOmy in right? I just thought it might be interesting to hear the arguments against signing Giles.
  10. Yes it worries me tremendously! Hopefully if he botches this offseason, he'll be gone next year and we will get someone who can spend 40 million bucks properly.
  11. Rotoworld is saying that he's narrowed down his choices to four teams, hopefully the Cubs are one of them.
  12. I really hope this means Hendry has an idea for RF, hopefully one that doesn't include Jones/Encarnacion/Mench.
  13. I don't think so. Even if Hendry doesn't agree with many of us about OBP being the chief concern with the offense, he has to at least see that after 2004, the team lost two talented hitters (Sosa and Alou) and finished with a record that was abysmal. While Furcal might be the only free agent signed, I think Hendry knows he has to improve the offense, and I think he knows that to compete in the division he needs to makea bigger splash than Juan Encarnacion. At least I hope so.
  14. Same site says there is more talk in NY about this deal. They were right about the Cameron trade. I guess I would rather have Heilman than McDougal?
  15. Cody Ransom is: http://img388.imageshack.us/img388/354/78032544gv.jpg
  16. Man those White Sox can't hang on to anyone huh?
  17. Maybe here!!!? http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5086106 I could see why he would want the job; he could be the GM who ends the two most famous curses. Right now, I'm just sick of Hendry.
  18. You can throw out the record books when Bowling Green meets Miami, OH.
  19. My favorite Poles: http://img60.imageshack.us/img60/2554/popejohnpaulii2ic.jpg or maybe: http://img60.imageshack.us/img60/5720/georgewendtbobswerski4fu.jpg It's a tight race, that's for sure.
  20. You won this round IMB, to even the score! But I'll get you with the next news! MWHAHAHAHA. That better be Juan Pierre or Wilkerson.. Until then, I'll be busy: http://img60.imageshack.us/img60/9814/deniro29hf.jpg
  21. Excellent Post, Sir. It's just too bad baseball teams don't value their players in the same way. I don't think Hendry is even hip to OBP, and if he is, he surely doesn't understand how to value it properly.
  22. The trib mentioned this today. And they said Dusty's relationship with Eyre might bring him to the Cubs. I wonder who broke this, the WSCR or the Trib. Just wondering because the score has been worthless in the past.
  23. You won this round IMB, to even the score! But I'll get you with the next news! MWHAHAHAHA.
  24. Good point. I think that Furcal's contract should be similar to Rollins'.
