  1. I'm going javy. He is my favorite, and he is making it easier and easier to just point at what he does, both in flash and metrics, as the evidence for that.
  2. There's really not much doubt with him, is there?
  3. JAVY YOU PASSED RIZZO AS MY FAVORITE YOU BEAUTIFUL SON OF A BITCH
  4. Well, optimism is not helping. Stop the presses.
  5. It's ok guys, we're gonna get 4 here and feel good about it. =) go cubs go
  6. Of course, then he calls that second pitch to rizzo a strike.
  7. This ump's strike zone has been stellar so far to be honest.
  8. Wanna shorten baseball games manfred? Make the replay reviews shorter than one minute or the call stands.
  9. Was he a homophobe? I forget what he said, I just remember he was generally a moron.
  10. horsefeathers it, I'm gonna try optimism for a change. Can't hurt anything, right? Go cubs, score a bunch of runs and don't let them score any.
  11. Our team is supremely talented and I want them to win a world series more than anything, which just makes it even more frustrating when they struggle against subpar teams.
  12. Nah, the team is right on track and fun to watch. Making a pitcher with a FIP just shy of 100 look great. Walking in runs. Hitting exclusively popups with risp. I know I'm being a meatball, but this is frustrating and this forum is the only place I have to talk about the cubs, whether they're doing good or bad.
  13. Why yes, yes it does. I feel bad that he didn't give up more. Also the espn crew talking about how he got to experience the leadership of the cardinal way in this experience in the majors has made me want him to fail.
  14. Also tim, joe nathan is incredible and sparked the team off
  15. Oh this poor guy. I feel bad for him, even if he's a cardinal
  16. In this day and age where information on everything is at our very fingertips, I find it disconcerting that the whisper of an allegation is all it takes before people start weighing in on either side of the line. An individual's popularity and your own personal opinions and morals don't make someone guilty or innocent of an action/crime. None of us were present when Aroldis Chapman went from being an athlete to being an athlete with baggage. How can you be so vehemently against him as a human based on nothing but what other people who you haven't met have said about him? Its terrifying to me that groupthink and mass public opinions (which can vary on a whim and have the capability of being vastly far from the truth) can affect or even decide what kind of reactions and recourse come down on a person.
  17. Yeah, not condoning athletes, or anyone, being a scumbag or piece of horsefeathers. That having been said, where do we draw the line? Where do you put your foot down and say "you can only be 7/8's a piece of horsefeathers, but if you go the full way, then I can't reconcile that."
  18. This game thread was the most rollercoastery I think I've seen. We were all completely down and out and then we all got to celebrate. Go cubs go.
  19. All it took was one complaint from me about zobrist batting cleanup for him to show up.
  20. Getting kinda tired of seeing zobrist plopped in the middle of the lineup.
