  1. I mean with the delivery and movements on the mound after the pitch.
  2. This pitcher looks like a younger, righty version of clayton richard.
  3. Questionable strike 3 to bryant there. And I thought rizzo cranked another one off the bat.
  4. Did.. Did montero just throw out marte? Do mine eyes deceive me?
  5. It's pretty indicative of just how refined a hitter Rizzo is that he can maintain MVP caliber numbers everywhere else while only hitting one HR in an entire month. He's so good.
  6. Oh screw off, I have nothing bad to say about len. I enjoy him quite a bit actually. I'm just saying that using "just" or "only" in lieu of "about" would have made what I think he was saying more clear.
  7. Character limits are a bitch, but tossing in a "just" or an "only" would go a long way for that tweet.
  8. Just read through that Pirates forum and they seem like a pretty reasonable bunch to be honest.
  9. What a series opener. I might be biased here (definitely am), but the Cubs played better than the Pirates that entire game and I think the Pirates were lucky to have it go as long as it did. When the camera panned over the Pirates' dugout after the win, the collective downtrodden, indignant look coming from those poor saps tickled me fancy. Next up, the rum chugging, jolly roger flying, bunch of wannabe Captain Jack Sparrow's throw out a guy named Kuhl. Kuhl climates aren't ideal for Pirates. DON'T THEY KNOW PIRATES LIKE IT WHERE ITS WARM? http://www.post-gazette.com/image/2016/06/27/20160626pdpiratesSports01.jpg (admittedly, that is a pretty Kuhl picture) He seems alright, no horrendous stats from what I see. Doesn't induce much soft contact, but hasn't seemed to have had to, despite a pretty low K%. Moving on, we get to revel in the sheer delight that is watching Kyle Hendricks pitch. There's something to be said for power pitching and dominating, electric stuff, and that something is: I'd rather watch Hendricks toy with people without touching 91. I'm not saying its gonna happen, but wouldn't it be a good thing for all of baseball if someone (KYLE HENDRICKS) threw a Maddux this year? Dunno if anyone has yet, truthfully, but I think Kyle can do it. http://images.performgroup.com/di/library/sporting_news/e6/4f/kyle-hendricks-031516-getty-ftr_p2kole0jikjr1qu9fsk7fr908.jpg?t=2068893323 That's the smug look of a smart, unimpressed, and superior man who is prepped and ready to school some fools in whatever it is he may be doing. In this case, being an Iowa-class battleship about to take on some dinky corsairs in their pathetic brig-class sailboat. USS Hendricks vs. Jolly Roger's Wild Card Hopes http://s3.amazonaws.com/production.mediajoint.prx.org/public/piece_images/289320/IMG_7222.jpg We all know how this one goes. Keep on rolling Cubbies.
  10. He sounded like he said it was Zastrnsyskdsjyklss's big league debut, but I know that isn't right. It was his Wrigley debut though, no?
  11. The whole leading the league in hit batsmen but also crying foul play anytime their guys get hit is pretty obnoxious. I don't hate the pirates as a whole, (I mean they've been pretty abysmal until the last couple years) but there are several people in their dugout who I wouldn't mind seeing get hit by an errant bat. Namely cervelli, harrison, and freaking clint hurdle.
  12. Dumb west coast games are a thing of the past, and Arrieta gets to return home to a treat, his favorite brand of NL snacks, the Pirates. Hammel has to eat potato chips in order to pretend that he isn't slipping in the second half, but Jake prefers feasting on smelly buccaneers. Steven Brault -This random AAA replacement for Gerrit Cole (who seems to have tucked his tail, cried hurt, and fled whimpering when he saw his match-up was Arrieta) looks extraordinarily meh from what I can find on him. Cubs, do what you do and dong him into submission. I mean even his face is meh. Meh. On the other side, we send Mr. Cy Arrieta himself out to deem these unworthy Buccos as just that, unworthy. Unworthy to be in the playoff hunt, to be on the field with the Cubs, TO BE SINGING "NO CUBS NO" WHEN YOU FINALLY MANAGE TO WIN ONE GAME AGAINST US. I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN THAT CRAP. :banghead: HRGHN I STRONGLY dislike Josh Harrison. [-X Anyways, :bow:God-Mode Jake is gonna show up  and it's gonna be a fun game and don't look now, but there's only 33 games left in this season. Baseball seasons go much faster when there are wins aplenty, so keep on keeping on Cubbies. http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/229/files/2015/08/jake-arrieta-mlb-chicago-cubs-los-angeles-dodgers1-850x560.jpg Obligatory picture of pure sex. edit- OMFG I can't believe I did the whole Pirates are Jake snacks thing and forgot to mention these http://cheezwhse.com/prodimages/8521.jpg I even worked in the factory where these are made as a summer job a few years ago.
  13. Well heyward seems fixed, but horsefeathering BABIP just had to shaft is there, eh?
  14. Joe plays javy at 3rd when lester pitches. I don't think he was in the lineup today due to any offensive merits or advantages.
  15. Honestly, if I were GM, Otani could have anything, ANYTHING, he wanted if that's what it took for him to sign with the Cubs. $35 million/year? No problem. Your own personal catcher? You got it. Every girl's number in Javy and Russell and Rizzo's phone? Have at it. A mansion across the street from wrigley? We'll start comstruction today.
  16. I'm 22, but I usually post about dumb stuff.
  17. My dad is the kinda guy who will comfortably custom order a BMW from germany because they don't make manual transmission 3 series in the states anymore but then he only buys the prison grade 1/2 ply toilet paper. It blows my mind how arbitrary his parsimonious ways are. I trust him still, but he skimps hard on toilet paper.
  18. My dad is exactly the same. He is a cubs fan, but he insists that the cardinals have "been there before" and that they will have the "it factor" come october. It's tiresome talking baseball with him because of that.
  19. Is it acceptable to just always think of lackey as being a little bitch, stats be damned?
  20. Wearing white slides with tall black socks is pretty much what my feet have been doing for 80% of the past 10 years. Not saying it's in or out, but it's comfortable as all hell and I think it looks pretty snazzy.
