1. Oh, and against the pirates. http://sportsmockery.com/2016/05/javier-baez-exciting-cubs-player-watch/
2. Against the giants he did something like that. https://www.google.com/amp/ftw.usatoday.com/2016/09/chicago-cubs-javier-baez-tag-behind-the-back-wizard-whoa-mlb/amp?client=ms-android-att-us
3. http://patch.com/pennsylvania/abington/penn-state-honor-joe-paterno-temple-game This is what he is alluding to.
4. Francois looked really good last night.
5. Yeah, I tip my hat to you CR. I read them everyday, I just don't know enough to comfortably comment much. Always nice to know what's going on in the lower levels.
6. Pretty sure most people are checked out til playoffs.
7. Houston just returned a missed 53 yard field goal for a touchdown.
8. Also, Houston's #15 just had a top ten kind of nuts catch.
9. Watching Houston-OU. Good game so far. Houston's receivers are blocking better downfield than any other team I've seen in a while.
10. Yeah that return was nuts. The guy is for real. Such an electrifying player. Edit- and now he just had a pretty nice TD run. He's so good.
11. Man, y'all are tossing spears through my heart. I've been a fan of Tennessee since I was 2 and I pointed at the tv when they were on and said I liked them because of their color. And I went to Nebraska the past 3 years for school and have kinda committed to being a Husker fan even though I'm not going there anymore. Stop picking on me! But for real, you're not wrong. About Nebraska especially. What they have and had was and is special, but the Huskers aren't in a position to recruit, nor play, at a national championship contending level. Curse you geography and population density! Their fans truly care about their team, and they know their history. Like any other faction of fans, the knowledgeable ones are capable of seeing things without blinders on, but there are always the insatiable, ravenous masses who still expect/demand national titles. That having been said, I wouldn't be surprised to see them win the Big Ten west this year.
12. Starting this one super early to atone for my misdeeds yesterday. Lester just dominated the Giants. :yahoo: That's the guy we paid for, although he has been pretty stellar all year. Next up, we get what should be one of the best pitching matchups one could ask for in all of baseball. Arrieta-Bumgarner. If this game was taking place at any point in the previous 2 months I have to imagine it would be on national TV, but college football seems to supersede it (which is fine by me personally). Madison Bumgarner. Do you think he's always mad because his parents gave him a girl's name, followed with a very-easy-to-quip-about last name? Whatever it is, this guy is freaking good. http://aroundthefoghorn.com/files/2014/03/83780521.jpg But given the face in that picture, opposing hitters might just be terrified of his appearance. Jake heads out there for the Cubs. He wasn't exactly in god mode last time out, but he didn't get a loss either. He hasn't seemed right all year, but his numbers are still pretty great. I've probably just been spoiled by his performance last year. IT ISN'T THAT UNREASONABLE TO EXPECT UTTER DOMINANCE ALL THE TIME. http://www.cubsinsider.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/i.jpeg That is one menacing glower. Please throw the cutter Jake, :beg: I don't know why you haven't as much this year. Go Cubs, keep it rolling.
13. Man, Pence broke up a 0-40 streak for the Giants where they only got one baserunner on a walk.
14. I'M HERE, I'M NOT DEAD. Yesterday's analysis: Addison Russell is a platinum-plated god. He is probably gonna be the best of all of them. Also, why only 28 guys on the roster? It's September, GIVE ME ELOY. Moving on, the Giants try to stymie this roll the Cubs are on by chucking Albert Suarez out on the mound this afternoon. He has looked... not so good. Low K's, not a low WHIP, not a low ERA. This guy had better not make it through the 4th. And we saw yesterday that Bochy isn't some sort of bullpen guru. Also, he looks like a cantankerous old bastard. Watch him walk to the mound today. Scary. http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Albert+Suarez+Atlanta+Braves+v+San+Francisco+RAjbTtJKWLll.jpg Yeah, the Cubs will make you cry some more Mr. Suarez. Sorry. The Cubs counter with Jon Lester. He has been rock solid this year, and if it wasn't for the Cubs having an absurd pitching staff with Arrieta and Hendricks both deciding to turn in incredible performances, I bet Lester would be getting some talk about maybe being top 5 for the Cy Young. Anyways, the guy is a badass, he doesn't care who you are, he's just gonna mow you down. Look at those ears sticking out, what a guy. Sorry for the tardiness, Go Cubs, keep on cruising.
15. I CAN START A NEW ONE REALLY QUICK I HAVE LIKE 15 MINS WHAT DO I DO?
16. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, I had class all morning and I didn't realize it was a day game. My bad gents. So does this mean my streak is done, win, lose, or rain? This was the first time they ever won more than one in a row when I was starting. :dontknow:
17. Found this on reddit frontpage, but the ump looks like he uses telekinesis to chuck the bat here. https://gfycat.com/ColdHandsomeBlesbok
18. Don't wanna say I called it, but my optimistic prediction for Hammel came true last game. \:D/ I might be a baseball seer. :-k Next up, the Cubs welcome the Giants to to the friendly confines. The Giants have been scuffling for a while now, and I fully expect the Cubs to take it to them. I wasn't aware that its standard practice for Giants to, in the fashion of using canaries in mine-shafts to check for gas deposits, use sharks to test new waters for them. I'm thinking this shark is gonna have a full on dong explosion on his hands. The Giants are sending Samardjhaoj;gvsdifvpof... that guy who used to pitch for the Cubs and who was a receiver for Brady Quinn at Notre Dame out to open this series up. http://www.sacbee.com/sports/mlb/san-francisco-giants/pa6qn7/picture66558227/ALTERNATES/FREE_640/JV_031616_GIANTS_MARINERS%200362%20(2) NICE TRY JEFF BUT TRYING TO LOOK LIKE TIM LINCECUM (go a little cross eyed, you'll see it) WON'T SCARE US SINCE THAT GUY HAS SUCKED FOR YEARS NOW. Good news, once our offense turns this guy into chum, Tommy La Sealboy won't have to be scared for his life any more. The Cubs will send out Mike Montgomery to kick things off. He has been solid for us, and I think we're in for more of the same with this one. Wouldn't it be something if he emerged as a solid lefty rotation piece for us next year when all he cost was a Vogelbach? http://www.trbimg.com/img-57b93026/turbine/ct-mike-montgomery-first-start-cubs-rockies-spt-0821-20160820 Do that thing where you win and you don't lose and its not close. Keep on Cubbing it up Cubs.
19. I mean, blackouts are just pure greed on the network's part. It's disgusting and it pisses me off.
20. Apparently central Maryland is in the blackout zone for espn. What the actual horsefeathers.
21. Today was supposed to be Montgomery but because of the Hammel meltdown only being a 39 pitch outing, Joe is sending Hammel out there today. At least that's what I read somewhere.
22. Not quite as exciting as the series opener, but the Cubs got it done. Rizzo even presented a glorious dong for all of us to behold. MOVING FORWARD The Pirates have got to be frustrated, so hopefully they manage to control themselves and politely brush any chips off their shoulder before the game starts. Preferably of the Utz variety, because Hammel has been less than stellar recently, and he seemed awfully hangry after that last one. The sniveling picaroons in yellow and black will be sending out Ryan Vogelsong, a man with a name that sounds like it belongs in a Zelda game, to try and avoid a sweep. http://rdcnewscdn.realtor.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Ryan-Vogelsong.jpg This guy looks like he's 47, but he seems to be performing at just slightly above average for the year. His opponent: the chip vacuum, the ever perturbed, the please don't be broken down second half... http://m.mlb.com/assets/images/0/0/6/188610006/cuts/jason_hammel1280_zly80px9_kjbxl0gf.jpg JASON HAMMEL I'll be optimistic and say he goes 6 with less than 3 given up.
