  1. That definitely seems light. I seem to recall a couple of occasions this year where the "How far did it fly" number was well short of the Statcast number.
  2. I'm 98% sure its going to be here. I really hope not, but if it is, we might as well start calling our bullpen the legion of doom
  3. I'm just mad this is the only game of the series I got to watch live, and it's probably the only one the Cubs will lose.
  4. If JHey can avoid gidp here he already had when i posted that My MLB.tv has fallen behind, I guess.
  5. I wouldn't expect any closer ot be brought into that situation. I just believe that if it's a high leverage situation and the reliever you bring in is as wild as Edwards was, you don't wait to pull him until things get out of hand. Joe got him at least two batters too late for my liking.
  6. Haters gotta see what's going on They can take a good, long look at the 13 game lead we'll still have after today.
  7. Yeah, Edwards should have been pulled when he loaded the bases initially. Not great bp management here.
  8. What's up with Rondon? I know he was supposed to throw a bullpen on Friday.
  9. Back in mid-July versus the Giants, iirc. He was never going to be great, but it's really too bad he went in the toilet when he signed with us.
  10. The Mets are now only one game over .500. It seems like a pile of mediocre pursuing the second WC.
  11. 7 IP, 2H, 3BB, 7K for EJax tonight.
  12. Nope. He's about as temperamental on the mound as any pitcher I've ever seen. Simply being temperamental =/= being a prima donna. He's just a redneck spaz.
  13. He really looks like the love child of Shrek and Donkey.
  14. Brandon Crawford with seven hits in tonight's game versus the Marlins.
  15. Out of the 4 teams seriously vying for an NL wild card, I'd prefer the Cards and Marlins to any other permutation. I'd most like Marlins/Pirates, but I feel like I've nearly written Pittsburgh off. I agree Cards and Marlins are the 2 worst of the realistic candidates but the difference between the Cardinals and another team is not worth the emotional risk of another Cards-Cubs series. I prefer smooth sailing and saving my emotions for winning the World Series I suppose you have a point, but I have have zero fear of the Cardinals right now. Though the playoffs are the playoffs, and if by some act of satanic intervention they were to eliminate us, that would be crushing. But otoh, bouncing their asses for a second straight year would be oh so gratifying.
  16. Why? I'd much rather the Marlins take that spot. I can't handle another Cardinals Cubs series. The Cubs are the clear better team but as discussed ad nauseum the advantage is like 55-45 Out of the 4 teams seriously vying for an NL wild card, I'd prefer the Cards and Marlins to any other permutation. I'd most like Marlins/Pirates, but I feel like I've nearly written Pittsburgh off.
  17. I'd rather see the Cards in the playoffs than the Mets.
  18. Nah, they're rebuilding, and their pen just did what their pen has done all year. Price probably needs to be fired after the season, though. He's terribad.
  19. How charitable of the Reds.
  20. Haha, in the ninth the Reds remember that they're the Reds.
  21. It's not shocking that the Cards have fallen well off their 2015 pace, given that they had an historic outlier pitching wise, and being that they lost their best position player (by WAR) and pitcher from last year. Mozeliak gambled on guys like Grichuk, Wong, etc., and that gamble has failed. Of course Aledmys Diaz has been pretty great, but he's the exception. Their defense is horrific, and that has impacted their pitching staff. And Rosenthal turned into a pumpkin. And I think that the Cards FO greatly underestimated the effect age would have on guys like Wainwright and Holliday (he's healthy and not hitting, I was assured that was something that did not happen). The Cardinals are getting old, and just aren't all that talented. Oh, and Mike Matheny is a dunce. Pittsburgh is a more curious case to me, and a huge part of their disappointing season stems from Andrew McCutchen suddenly and inexplicably turning into a near replacement level player. And Liriano turning into Mr. Hyde. That team should be better than it is.
