  1. I don't know about a monster, but lots of people have given up on him way too early. As long as he can be disciplined at the plate, I expect very good things.
  2. Rizzo should/could have had like five more homers over the past week or so.
  3. Hey Man, I somehow read Braves as A's at first and thought Chad Bradford. Long day, I guess. Is Brad Clontz who you're thinking of?
  4. In the first three games of a four game series against the Twins, the Indians have allowed 35 runs. The SP in these games have been Salazar (who is now on the DL), Carrasco and Bauer. The Twins have set a record for the most XBH tallied against the Indians in a four game series, and there's one game left to go. This is all remarkable because the Indians' staff is the one of the best in the game, and the Twins' offense is pretty average.
  5. I found this mildly surprising since he isn't exactly tearing up AA. He hasn't been bad by any stretch, just so so well that you jump him a level to get him to the majors.
  6. To be fair, Gordon did it to him first. But Contreras has a little Carlos Gomez in him. As long as it's just a little, I like it.
  7. Yeah, two of the strongest non-pitcher arms in the game.
  8. It's making up for being so shaky in the first three innings.
  9. Heyward-Baez is the wrong relay combo to run on.
  10. This game should at least be 5-0 or 6-0 by now.
  11. Jesus our defense is making Hendrick's life difficult tonight
  12. So apparently the Dodgers told Yasiel Puig that he'd either be traded or demoted. Since the former didn't happen, the latter will soon.
  13. Apparently Aledmys Diaz's bruised thumb is actually fractured, and he'll likely miss a few weeks. In case you missed it, he was HBP yesterday by Cashner.
  14. Yup. He's probably just thinking of the reefer they found in his room. Who was the other Cardinal player that died unexpectedly. Was his drug related? I thought maybe I confused him with Chris Farley, but Farley was 5 years earlier (1997). Josh Hancock died in a drunk driving incident years back
  15. One downside to the Liriano trade is that even when he's down, he absolutely owns the Cardinals, and would probably have started a couple more games against them this year.
  16. So the Mets may try Bruce in CF, which is amazing because as bad as Cespedes and Granderson are in CF, they're miles better than Bruce would be. Their pitchers should be weeping at the prospect.
  17. The Cubs got appreciably better, they just did it a few days earlier. Another SP would be nice, though, with Cahill turning back into a pumpkin and Warren gone. We have next to no rotation depth right now.
  18. Beltran is on his way to Texas, it seems.
  19. It seems like they're exploring deals, but barring one, I'd imagine Grimm will be added to the roster.
  20. Damn, why? It seems to be the only cards site with decent conversation. Yeah, GRB is the only Cards site with anything resembling civilized discourse. Well, VEB too, but I hate the format of the SB Nation sites. Bummer.
  21. I don't think we'll do anything earth shattering at this point. I think we were in on the HIll/Reddick sweepstakes and missed out. Unless we get a Tampa pitcher or something small then yeah it seems like we are done. I'd be happy if we nabbed Odorizzi, a little less so if it were Moore. I'd be thrilled if we went huge on a young TOR type, but with market in the state it is in, I'm afraid of what it could cost.
