Sorry guys, I'm just a realist. I don't want the NCAA meddling in legal matters, because they kinda [expletive] everything up. And like I said, not surprised by anything they do at this point.

You guys do realize the NCAA released their proper protocol for handling sexual assault accusations in athletic departments and Joe Paterno basically did exactly what they wanted him to do, right? So after that was released, this really shouldn't be a big surprise. Don't be shocked when they award the wins back to PSU, too. You can be irate at the University admins ultimately responsible who face their day at trial and still realize that punishing college students, alumni and fans for a legal issue is completely moronic at the same time, believe me. But please, feel free to continue making/laughing at child molestation jokes, thats definitely not a weird thing to do.

Bryant could be the worst 3B in the league defensively for all I care (but he wouldn't be), as long as he's top whatever offensively (he may quickly be). Him sticking at 3B is enormously valuable to our best lineup possible. Wouldn't you rather build from 3B Bryant 1B Rizzo OF Soler OF _______ than OF Bryant 1B Rizzo OF Soler 3B _______ if even for just 5 years (2015-20), max? Everyone wants Stanton and not give up Bryant or Soler in the process - and that most likely includes Theo, too - so obviously the only way to accommodate that is if KB sticks at 3rd through Soler's contract, then moves to his spot (LF) once he's moved on, because Stanton will theoretically have RF locked up through 2022+, by that point. But that's if you think we'll deal for Stanton, which I'm not sure we will, but I'd most likely be ok with.

All this talk of Soler and Javy and Mendy, and soon Bryant and Schwarber and Russell.... and yet the best player on our team through 2020 just may be Arrieta. We traded Jeff Samardizja, Jason Hammel and Scott Feldmen and received Jake Arrieta, Addison Russell and Billy McKinney. Dude! I'm high on prospect fumes, sure, but I really think in a handful of years we will look back at these trades and just spontaneously :yahoo:

Who even thinks to put in a rule like that? Especially in a HS tournament :roll: When I was stationed at MCAS Iwakuni, we played a modified fast pitch tournament in town with a rubberized ball. The championship game was tied at the end of seven innings and the umps told us to line up across the team from Japan. Not kidding, to play best-of-nine rock-paper-scissors to determine the champion. They won 5-4 and celebrated like the 1980 US hockey team. I want this turned into a film.

What are we getting in return that we need more? Value has it's place, but for teams that are trying to win, roster construction matters more. Could we use them (and others of our top 100-150 prospects) to get some Top 50 guys or higher, to use in the mythical Stanton deal? For instance, Valbuena+Wada+Vogelbach might interest some AL team into giving up a good prospect, no? We aren't short of prospects to make a Stanton deal. If you're trading for Stanton, you're trying to win. And if you're trying to win, there's no point in voluntarily downgrading Valbuena's roster spot. I know we aren't, but none of us want to give up our top 5 guys for him, so let's get creative and find a rising top 50 guy Miami wants to pair with Alcantara+Almora+Edwards+whatever :beg:

Well, I guess I'm asking if we've got any foreign guys who don't/won't speak any English at all, like Vlad or Ichiro? I know Soler uses an interpreter, but is he working towards learning English? Just curious when it comes to clubhouse communication. At the same time, how is Rizzo's Spanish?

Does anyone know which of our players are bilingual? Which speak just one language? Wondering where the divide in the clubhouse will be and which guys bridge it.

If Schwarber truly can be a catcher for us, he moves to 4 on my list. Middle of the order bats at C and 3B would be a luxury no one else has and a way for us to gain an edge over the AL teams and their high paid DHs.
