  1. Well I was a baseball announcer and I can say there's no such thing as "announcing ability", you just say what you see and think during a baseball game, after that point whether someone hears you or not is out of your control.
  2. Of course the sky isn't falling....why even mention it? The sky's still the limit.
  3. This is actually a funny description of Eddie's sound. Do Thom Yorke next! Also, I hope we sign John Lester
  4. Theo will pay him a little extra for his leadership, clubhouse presence, mentorship, etc. I think this is the definition of a "right time, right place" kind of deal for Martin.
  5. yup. And its the type of [expletive] that totally weirds me out. napkin > scribbles > bye bye Jorge Ok, being hyperbolic can be funny sometimes, but let's be real... If tampering is found proven, we aren't giving up one of our starting Major Leaguers as compensation.
  6. I really was hoping he'd call him "Lucas" or something in the follow up tweet
  7. Javy could hit .200 and it wouldn't be the end of the world.
  8. They could just be telling him that to cover their butts in the event he has a non-stellar end of season/off season/spring training to the point where AAA next year makes most sense. Don't want to screw with the kid's head too much, so make him aware of all possible scenarios. But I think he will be in our opening day lineup.
  9. Who needs the justice system when we have a message board full of pre-cogs, right here? I really feel the need to say again I'm just defending due process here, not Penn State or Joe Paterno. The trials could uncover even worse atrocities, ones where perhaps the entire athletic department should be disbanded as a result of it, but now that the NCAA handled this in the way they did, the appropriate punishment may never happen, mostly because the NCAA rushed to punish based on public pressure and not actual court findings.
  10. you don't want the NCAA involved in punishing member organizations that systematically enable sexual abuse? Not until due process has ran its course, no. Why? And especially why the [expletive] not in this case? Because I'm not convinced the football program had anything to do with it, really. I'd like to hear the admins defense, make my judgements after that. Basically, I just think everyone deserves their day in court before we go around tar and feathering an entire university.
  11. I'm not going to argue with you guys, but I do know some facts. It's on record that Paterno made a report to his superior and the school VP and backed out of the process. That's what the NCAA just released a few weeks ago as the proper course of action. I am not defending Joe Paterno here as much as I am saying I just refuse to be surprised when they give him his wins back, because the NCAA is run by clowns.
