  1. No. We let Rizzo play here until he's 32 or whatever and then let him get overpaid by the Dodgers to end his career.
  2. What the [expletive]? Are you rooting for cancer or something, you monster? Well, he will get paid SEVEN MILLION dollars during the 2018 season and jumps all the way up to ELEVEN MILLION in 2019, so perhaps we won't be able to afford him by that time, even if he is one of the best first baseman in the game.
  3. Schwarber is going to be a catcher for us, at least until we get the DH
  4. Baez/Alcantara at 2nd and Olt/La Stella at 3rd until Kris Ruth arrives
  5. So what are Bryant's numbers this spring now?
  6. Where do you rank Lester/Arrieta in the NL when looking at TOR SP duos?
  7. Not being a smart ass...just curious why you'd have the guy most likely to be the worst hitter of that group bat second. Because I dunno, I just think that early in the year this lineup may be something Maddon would write up. Doesn't mean I would put money on it or that I think this is the lineup we would see in a hypothetical playoff series, just that on the first game both Bryant and Russell are active on the MLB team, I predict this lineup and won't lose any sleep when it never happens.
  8. I don't care if he funds ISIS and rapes teddy bears, he's the best manager we've ever had!
  9. CF Fowler 2B Baez 1B Rizzo LF Bryant SS Castro RF Soler 3B Russell C Montero
  10. Montero Ross Castillo Lopez Schwarber Zagunis Caratini At least one of these names will be traded and most likely, at least one will shift positions. But I can't imagine we ever had depth at the dish like this.
  11. I think I misunderstood. So these executives could pick 3 players? And 3 executives did not have Trout as 1 of their 3? That's obviously stupid.
  12. Maybe 3 executives honestly believe a player like Stanton will age better than Trout? Its not the craziest idea out there.
  13. Did he really just say Bryant is being "babied" because his sore shoulder caused some missed spring training at bats? Holy [expletive] someone exile this man from sports.

  15. Could you explain what you mean by this? Like, as a manager or broadcaster or something?
  16. i'm not really fearful of losing anybody we don't want to lose, especially 7 years down the line. AS LONG AS HIS PLAQUE HAS A CUBS HAT FROM THOSE 7, DAMNIT ILL AGREE!!!!
  17. I don't know why its taken me this long, but the reality has just now sunk in that those 6 or 7 years will probably be exactly what we get from Bryant before he signs a 500 million dollar deal or something with LA or NY. :( If thats the early feeling Theo gets, then its hard to blame him for making sure its 7 and not 6, meatballs be damned.
  18. There were some good ideas shared here a few years ago I remember reading. I like the idea of keeping a DH in your lineup as long as your SP remains in the game, but I remember there being more 'out there' ideas that weren't bad, like letting it up to the home team to decide or something.
  19. You guys are right, I just dozed off and had a wet dream about that 3 way dong sesh. If you guys don't leak onto your sheets tonight thinking about those beefy 23 year olds handling wood, return your fandom card at the door please and thank you goodnight.
  20. No I do not become physically aroused from watching people hit homeruns, I believe you need to see a doctor (therapist).
  21. "I haven't seen it this bad in a long time but it still is not as bad as it was in 2004 when we lost Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Mark Grudzielanek, Todd Hollandsworth, Sammy Sosa, Joe Borowski, Aramis Ramirez, Todd Wellemeyer, Tom Goodwin, Kent Mercker, Alex Gonzalez and Mike Remlinger all to extended stays on the DL," http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2011-05-26/sports/chi-110527-around-town_1_chicagoans-injuries-dwyane-wade
  22. Didn't our own 2005 Cubs have some terrible injuries? Im thinking Nomar's hammy, Aramis was hurt at stretches, Sammy sneezed or something, Clement got line drived in the head and then, of course, the famous DL adventures of Prior and Woody... and then close to all this, didn't DLee hurt his wrist? Much of this could've happened over multiple years, but for some reason, 2005 sticks in my head as when it all happened.
  23. I like Russell at 3rd so he can bulk up, moving Bryant to OF, allowing him to add weight too and not stress about it. Then, we enjoy Castro's peak years while letting Torres develop in the system. Once he's ready, then we make the decision on who to trade. But not now.
  24. In our lust for our drafted/signed prospects to pan out, our traded for prospects get overlooked a bit. How awesome would your scenario above be if working in conjunction with Hendricks succeeding in the 4 spot? Cashner>RIZZO Feldman>ARRIETA Dempster>HENDRICKS Garza>EDWARDS To have those guys contribute along with the signed guys (SOLER), the drafted (BRYANT), inherited (CASTRO, ALCANTARA) and major league additions (LESTER, FOWLER, HAMMEL, MONTERO).... what a job by Theo and his team. Now DO AWESOME!!
