Kearns would be a nice consolation prize if the Cubs don't get Dunn.

I'm not very comfortable with the idea of Dunn in RF. It seems like every time the Reds play the Cubs, Dunn makes a blockheaded move in the OF...and then blasts a 450 foot HR shortly thereafter. However, in LF, I'd be all for it.

Actually, I think CT told me first. But whatever. If it makes you feel any better, I told both of them. But CPatt20 told me so I guess he is to blame. BOCF was the first to tell me. Slugger and Raisin also later informed me, but they were too late. :P

They are like Brett Farve when its below freezing! UNSTOPABLE. But we still suck. unfortunately, he's sucked in his last few cold weather starts...the regular season game VS Jacksonville came to mind (the one where Robert Ferguson got clotheslined) and of course the playoff loss to the Queens. :( anyway, im going to SIU for open house this weekend and it's probably going to be close to the 100's there too. doesn't bother me though, i love hot weather :D That loss to Atlanta in the snow and the playoffs was one of the happiest moments in recent memory for me. :D

I was skeptical regarding Mulder's health. When you have a pitcher who has a hip injury that's nagging and never seems to go away along with him having second half fades recently...well, predicting a Cy Young is quite far-fetched. Hudson surprised me. Atlanta has done a tremendous job of handling pitchers in the past. This season has been realy odd for them considering how Kolb and Hudson have done. I was expecting him to be the best of these guys. Zito has impressed me. But Danny Haren...wow. Remember when the Cubs got like ten straight hits off of him? Did anyone see this coming?

Okay, color me hopeful but cynical here, so I apologize if I come off as a bit of a jerk. I'm just wondering about a few things. Did you and your friend discuss this trade in-depth at all or did he just tell you the terms of the deal and leave it at that? Did he say why the Reds were interested specifically in those two pitchers and Patterson? Did he say that cash or other prospects might change hands? Do you post on any other message boards, out of curiosity? If you do, what's your screen name on those boards? Finally, what's the motivation for the Reds to deal Dunn to the Cubs for this package? Did the negotiations between them and other teams fall apart (like with Houston), or were they not contacted? Also, why did they trade their best young hitter to a division rival? I like to have reasons and everything, as you may understand. You may say you're not a troll...but unfortunately, on the Internet, one can never be sure with a new poster.
