I understand what his point is. NYC has 2 baseball teams and a lot of other stuff that people worried about. In the summer, the Red Sox are pretty much the focal point. In NYC he would share the spotlight in the media with Jeter, ARod, Sheffield, Randy Johnson, Mariano Rivera, Mike Piazza, Carlos Beltran, Pedro Martinez, etc etc. In Boston, he is the focal point along with Ortiz, Schilling and Varitek. He'd likely get one of the center spotlights being a former member of the Red Sox, a huge contract, a name player, and a tormentor of the Yankees for most of his career. I can understand where you're coming from on this, but I honestly think that his privacy would go flying out the window the moment he got traded to the Mets.
