  1. Gerut hasn't exactly produced up to any meaningful standards for the Cubs.
  2. Is Hill the only Cub starter who doesn't use a 2 seam sinker as his primary fastball?
  3. Sometimes it helps to be freakishly tall.
  4. His pitch count wouldn't be quite as bad if Ramirez had gotten at least one out on that slow roller from Terrero. Also, if Hill can develop his change and cutter and throw them for strikes, he'll have a good future in the majors.
  5. [-X Hey, if he could net the Cubs a franchise-level LF, I'd be all for it! :D
  6. There ya go Rich! Up that trade value. 8)
  7. He even does that bent arm thing when he's on the bases.
  8. I love how Hill's curve starts at the chest and drops to the ankles.

  10. Hendry confirms that Pie would have come up were it not for the injury.
  11. Ford .252/4/35 Hunter .269/14/56 Not to mention the defense and speed. Ford: .252/.335/.368 Hunter: .269/.337/.452 Not a total dropoff in terms of OBP, but that power loss might hurt. It might require Minny to re-think their offensive battle plans, though.
  12. Corey's starting in CF tonight for Iowa and batting second.
  13. Oh man. The Red Sox clubhouse will be a complete and utter zoo if Manny doesn't get traded by August 1st.
  14. Chan Ho got launched to San Diego in exchange for Phil Nevin.
  15. Ah, these things are fun to ask. Speaking of Scott Moore, while his offensive production has been quite impressive, he has posted a rather large number of errors on the season (I believe 18?). Are his errors on plays that he will be able to corrected given time and coaching, or does it seem more like he could benefit from a move to the outfield or to first base?
  16. I understand what his point is. NYC has 2 baseball teams and a lot of other stuff that people worried about. In the summer, the Red Sox are pretty much the focal point. In NYC he would share the spotlight in the media with Jeter, ARod, Sheffield, Randy Johnson, Mariano Rivera, Mike Piazza, Carlos Beltran, Pedro Martinez, etc etc. In Boston, he is the focal point along with Ortiz, Schilling and Varitek. He'd likely get one of the center spotlights being a former member of the Red Sox, a huge contract, a name player, and a tormentor of the Yankees for most of his career. I can understand where you're coming from on this, but I honestly think that his privacy would go flying out the window the moment he got traded to the Mets.
  17. Didn't he say want more privacy, too? That makes no sense considering the NY sports media is the most bloodthirsty and psychotic in the US. Boston is pretty bad, but by comparison, they are all kittens and sunshine compared to the NY media.
  18. With Kerry Wood no longer starting, do you want to jeopardize our starting rotation depth?
