  1. It's the players. They've looked bad for 2 weeks now. This guy has almost as many k's as bb's and look at what he's done to us. True, but you'd think the scouting reports would at least tell the hitters not to get too aggressive and try to work the counts...as opposed to swinging at the first pitch all the time. Or that the hitting coaches would try to make the hitter's approaches more patient and conducive to patience.
  2. I don't know if it's the guys who draw up the scouting reports, the hitting coaches, or the players themselves...but the Cubs have looked pretty bad at the plate tonight.
  3. I love how Hairston has decided he's a power hitter.
  4. All of the above at times. Nice job finishing off Howard.
  5. Well, at least Jerome learned his lesson about hustling to cover the bag.
  6. I love how the rookie pitchers attach themselves at the hip to Maddux. Hill even spit at the same time as him.
  7. Not all of us are guys and we're watching because its the Cubs... You're female? Is that a surprise? Didn't the Avatar tip it off?  Actually, I can't see your avatar. Are you using Geocities or Angelfire as a host? http://www.imageshack.us is a good place to host an image that everyone can see.

  9. It's happening. DeMuth's terrible behind home plate. I'll look closer, but I don't recall DeMuth missing much. And that 3-0 strike Williams got with the bases loaded was definitely up and away. Got a break there. I've counted about three or four pitches so far in this game from both pitchers that looked pretty good, but called balls.

  11. I feel like the games against the Phillies this year could be played to a blooper reel theme.
  12. You know, if Oakland wins the WC in the AL, the White Sox might be in deep trouble come playoffs time.
  13. DP gets you out of this Jerome. 1 run isn't going to win this game, despite what some people might say.
  14. Jerome underestimated Howard's speed there. Hustle helps, imo.
  15. Abreu is really good. Walking Burrell's no biggie as long as he can get the twin killing.
  16. 6 pitches?! That's the most efficient inning I've seen this year from the Cubs!
  17. Awesome job showing the first pitch there guys!
  18. I'm giving him credit for that bunt for a basehit attempt. It was a nice idea and he would have gotten on, but it went foul.
  19. STOP BATTING BURNITZ BEHIND LEE AND NEIFI IN THE 7TH SPOT FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY!!!!!! Just...argh.

  21. This comment alone provides enough impetus for me to never read 'Scoop' Jackson's drivel. The funniest part of that article was when he accused Mariotti of being racist.
  22. It's a proven fact that bad closers have abnormally high body temperatures, exemplified by Latroy Hawkins, who insisted on wearing short sleeves this past April against Pittsburgh at Wrigley, where the gametime temperature was hovering around 30 degrees. So how does study this account for Joe Borowski?
