Matt, What kind of exercises and pitching drills do you engage in to keep your arm sharp? Are there any good tips you might have for younger baseball players who are looking into getting into pitching and who are looking for ways to develop good habits without taxing their arms? Secondly, what have been your goals for this season? Did you have any specific numbers in mind (i.e. a certain number of innings pitched), or did you instead just have some more general ones in mind? Finally, how did you come about being a pitcher? Was it something you always wanted to do, or did you play other sports and eventually found yourself playing baseball? Attempting to apply rationality to Dusty Baker's line of reasoning will only result in numerous contradictions and headaches. Frankly, I've given up thinking that anything out of that man's mouth is the truth. He's lied and made plenty of stuff up before, so why expect him to be honest to fans and the media?

And as we all know, that will be Baker's reasoning if he's asked about the lineup following the game.

For cripe's sake, if Neifi is going to be in the lineup, put him down in the 7 or 8 hole where his joke of an OBP won't be as much of a problem!

That is not saying much. Hollandsworth is clearly not an everday player. Dusty gave Dubois a better chance at earning a job, than both Cedeno and Murton. He also had a chance in Cleveland to grab an everyday spot as DH, he just hasn't taken advantage of his opportunities. I thought Cleveland's DH job was Travis Hafner's and that some injuries had caused him to miss time? As much as I like Dubois, he's not as good as Hafner offensively speaking.

McCarver also had a creepy moment in the game. Geoff Blum was at 1st with Juan Uribe at the plate. Ozzie kept calling for the hit and run about six times in a row starting with a 3-1 count, but Uribe kept fouling it off. After the sixth one, Blum handed his helmet to the 2B umpire for a quick breather. McCarver said something to the effect of: "Blum is so tired right now! He's handing his helmet to the umpire, but he also probably wants to give him some more of his clothes. That uniform is hot!" :shock:
