  1. Feeling lonely in here, Fred? Maddux is pitching a beauty tonight.
  2. Pagan has 1 BB in 47 ABs. 1. I don't care if you hate OBP with all your heart and soul because your wife cheated on you with it. That just shows putrid plate discipline.
  3. He actually projects to have Gold Glove caliber defense in RF, as memory serves me. Problem is, his bat probably won't be. :x
  4. Liriano was least highly rated of the three at the time of that trade, oddly enough.
  5. Kind of amusing how the only guy to get pushed out the door during a season of horrifying pitching, hitting, and defense is the third base coach...for a DUI.
  6. In other words, Dave Kingman. Or Rob Deer? Kingman at least made it to the All Star Game on three different occasions. I'm trying to be optimistic with Harvey here! :D

  9. Ah nuts, with three walks and a hit, Jeremy Papelbon loses his scoreless innings streak. :(
  10. We'll have to see how it works out. I love Lee Evans and have nothing but respect for the guy. He loves the game, he's a really nice guy, and was the most talented guy I've ever seen in person on a football field. That said, Dick Jauron prefers a really conservative approach to his offense. He is absolute murder on fantasy WRs, imo.
  11. I think they'd be really interested in one of our bullpen guys, especially Eyre, Howry, or Dempster. Granted, the NTCs are problematic, but with Dusty out the door soon, maybe they'll be willing to waive them. Their bullpen has been incredibly unreliable save for Papelbon last I heard. If we can pry away Buchholz, Bowden, or Ellsbury, I'd be quite interested!
  12. Hey Vance, you realize that taking a WR in an offense with Dick Jauron as HC is like bringing a knife to a shootout, right?
  13. Yepez went 7 strong, giving up only 1 ER. Valdez, Norwood, and Carter all had RBIs, yet the team only accumulated 4 hits.
  14. I'm guessing they're really high on him. That's good news. :D
  15. Apparently he's Johnny Damon Redux. Good combination of speed, power, and plate discipline with a noodle arm.

  17. If he's a fan of country music, Dollywood could work. If he's a fan of Indian movies, how about Bollywood?
  18. Shhhhhh...let us have our delusions.
  19. I'm 5'7 and I weigh as much as he does!
  20. And he's acknowledging that. Despite what some want to say, this isn't the way things usually go with him and he's owning up to it. He had an extra crappy day on a team having a crappy day. Yeah, but I wonder if there'd be all this nsbb knob slobbing if, say, Neifi had done the same thing and then owned up to it. Did Neifi ever say anything when he bunted with two outs to the end the game a number of weeks ago?
  21. Here's something to keep us occupied in the meantime.
  22. I have to give the team credit when it comes to keeping an eye on Marshall. He's only gone over the 100 pitch mark three times so far this season, and all three times he was only at 102 pitches. He still has plenty left to work on with regards to his pitching...but considering that the season is lost, the Cubs aren't exactly losing anything by letting him develop and throwing him out there every time his spot in the rotation comes up.
