    McDonough is indeed the same guy who had lunch with Steve Stone. He and Stone are really good friends, from my understanding.

    I believe that is the case with Girardi, as he basically expected all of his hitters to know how to bunt, save for Cabrera. I'm not too particularly impressed with the IsoD numbers, plus they have six guys with 100+ Ks on the team this season. It could be their talent or it could be indicative of an aggressive approach at the plate. Hard to tell either way.

    It hasn't been done since the NFL shifted to a 16 game season. I predict Dick Jauron gets a semi-respectable reception at Soldier Field. It'll be mostly cheers with some boos peppered in. He never was a jerk, plus he never gave anyone reason to hate him on a personal level.

    They ended the alternating picks thing not too long ago. I thought that part fell through in final discussions to wrap up the CBA. It wasnt a deal breaker so it was left out to sign off on a complete deal. I want to say you're either thinking of the International Draft or the ending of compensatory picks.

    I have a hard time seeing the Mets go to the WS given their playoff rotation is going to look something like Hernandez-Glavine-Trachsel-Maine. That's just plain ugly.
