  1. Lilly has a grudge against the backstop, it appears.
  2. Someone please explain to me how a scrub like Lohse has 6 Ks in this game.
  3. For those not in front of the TV, what happened? If he tipped it and Barrett caught it, what as the fuss about? Lilly threw an inside pitch to Encarnacion which got him off the plate. The pitch grazed off the knob of his bat or his hand and went into Bare's glove. The ump called it a foul tip strike three and Encarnacion went ballistic, yet somehow managed not to get tossed.
  4. I understand now why it's rare for Lilly to go more than 6 innings in a start. The man has some nice pitches, but nothing to wipe out the opposing hitter on a regular basis. Plus, despite being a lefty, he doesn't hold the runners particularly well.
  5. I think he scared the crap out of Freel, hahahaha.
  6. Pretty good. His curve's been kinda eh today, but his change and fastball are working.

  8. This year Conley is the first point guard taken. Next year Mayo, Rose, Gordon, Collison, and possibly Collins make the spot a little crowded. I would go now were I Conley. Two things... 1) Gordon's probably going to end up at SG despite his size. If Indiana can teach him better passing ability, I'll buy his potential as a PG. For now, consider me pessimistic. 2) Sherron Collins? I'm skeptical on that, but I don't know as much about him as I do the others on your list. I think Conley's got the goods to be as good as, if not better than, everyone on your list when all is said and done. However, I also think that the history of PGs who do not spend much time in college does not speak to Conley's chances. He could very well break the mold, but PG is such a difficult position to master that any team who takes him will have to be patient since it's quite likely he'll take his share of lumps before finally putting it all together. In terms of what's best for him in terms of short term rewards, coming out now would probably be best for him. But long term, I think he would be better-served with another year at OSU competing for the Big 10 Title and making another run at the title; especially if Cook decides to stay.
  9. I found a website today that streamed the Cubs' radio broadcast of the game. It made me feel at home. :D My personal favorite moments are always walkoffs. Pat: Barrett hits a drive, deep to left field... Ron: Go! Pat: FAIR BALL! Ron: YES!!!! Pat: Lee's rounding third! Ron: COME ON!!! COME ON!!!! GO!!!!!! Pat: Here's the throw! Ron: GOOOOOOOOOOO! Pat: Lee slides!!! Ron: AUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!!!! Pat: HE'S SAFE! HE'S SAFE!! CUBS WIN!! CUBS WIN!!!! Ron: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!!!! *Goes bananas*
  10. While his command's not all there today, Hill's still battling.
  11. Dunn with a stolen base. Wait...what?!
  12. Can we please lay off the racial discussion?
  13. Hey, if he manages to go 40-40, that means he'll have a really hot rest of the season.
  14. I'm thinking successful bunt by Hill + single by Theriot. I see Rich Hill cranking a home run.
  15. Freel picked off after Ron talks about how Hill doesn't have a good move to first, haha.
  16. Hill's not at his best today. Yeesh.
  17. Andy Mazur's replacement has an impressively nasal voice.
