That's been tried before. From what I heard, it wasn't pretty.

If you play fantasy football, there's a good reason why hamstring injuries always make teams squirm. They fall into the category of "nagging injury" where they could have an effect on a player over the course of a season if it doesn't fully heal. With Pie up, there's not as much pressure on Soriano to come back ASAP. If he can take his time and get back to 100%, it'd be best for everyone involved.

I think the excitement has to do with the fact that he's the top prospect in this system and has received quite a bit attention for the past few years. It'd be the same if he were playing at any other position or pitched; we've heard quite a bit about the guy and now we can finally see him in action! Whether or not he succeeds remains to be seen. I'm not going to pass judgment on the guy in his first callup one way or another since we've seen plenty of guys come up, hit really well, and then hit a wall and we've also seen guys who've come up, sucked wind, but was later able to come back and play well. However, I'm still quite excited. :D

Yes. Pie has a hot bat right now and needs as much playing time as possible. If Soriano goes on the 15 day DL, Pie better be playing in CF in as many of those games as humanly possible. His development is almost at a point where he can only continue to improve if he faces major league pitching.

We still have Ben Wallace, and I don't know see how its any skinnier than Tyrus, Deng and Nocioni. Durant is 6' 10" and what like 185 pounds? That's a string bean. 220. So...no, not a string bean. -
I thought scouts were all dirty old men. Most of the ones I know are. But then this is a family board so lets not get to much further down that road. Ahhhh...the always unintentionally hilarious scouting reports. STRONG FRAME, SOFT HANDS, SINEWY AND MUSCULAR ARMS, CHEST LIKE A WASHBOARD, ABLE TO GENERATE TERRIFIC POWER AND THRUST WITH HIS HIPS.
