  1. Looks like hyperextension of his knee. Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
  2. I'm inclined to agree with the crowd on that no-call.
  3. Does anyone have a link to the FA rankings? I'm curious to see who got what designation.
  4. Do you think it would be a salary issue or something else?
  5. I'll be curious to see if the Cubs decide to stick with someone like Koyie Hill or if they go out and get another one or two year rental. I have a feeling Welington Castillo will be a good backup option for Soto, but that's about a year or two away.
  6. I'm happiest for Jamie Moyer. He's almost 46, had never been in a WS despite being on some really good Mariners teams, and always seemed to be a likable guy. It took him 22 years in the majors, but he finally reached the top of the mountain. That has to be a tremendous feeling.
  7. Remember when I was 0-3? Heh heh heh
  8. Pie was a goner when he was not cooperating with the Cubs when they sent him down to extended spring training earlier this season.
  9. We've got a farm system stocked with athletic prospects who all have at least some speed to them. Pie is probably the fastest guy in the entire system. Cedeno has wheels. Guys like Sam Fuld, Tyler Colvin, Tony Thomas, and Brandon Guyer aren't afraid to steal a base. It's a bit hard to get a read on how fast some of these guys are since the Cubs don't have a SB-happy system, but they've definitely got guys who can fit that mold.
  10. Weren't there rumors of a Fielder for Matt Cain deal floating around awhile ago?
  11. They did just draft a college closer who probably has very little chance of succeeding in the starting rotation. Cashner could provide a significant amount of bullpen help if Marmol is dealt. Not to mention there are some decent relief options out there in free agency. I don't see Cashner breaking with the team in Spring Training, but he definitely could be a September callup next season if the Cubs keep him as a reliever.
  12. He was young for his level last season, but still, that's kind of a bummer.
  13. Yeah but if Penn St wins, and they finish without a loss, they probably make it to the NC game. And they probably get blown out as well. I know a number of horrifyingly obnoxious OSU fans from when I lived in Cleveland. I'd be fine with that.
  14. Maybe, although Ryne Sandberg's a good draw for the Chiefs in Peoria. I don't know how much good it would do him to move up another level to Daytona since he's still a bit wet behind the ears in terms of managing.
  15. I may have to stab someone if Ohio State wins this one. The thought of them getting blown out in another BCS bowl game is just nauseating.
  16. Are they going to get this one in? The reports I'm hearing don't make it sound too good...
  17. I'm pissed off about not being able to see Oklahoma State and Texas.
  18. There was illegal contact, but Zook was a moron for not calling for the FG.
  19. Not kicking the FG here is a poor decision.
  20. Seconded.... All in favour? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?
  21. I like AP, but the Vikings are a mess. Your WRs could also use an upgrade. I say go for it.
  22. We should also look to upgrade the position of "Veteran Leader" and "Clutch Performer". Don't forget 2B! Who knows if one of Mark DeRosa, Mike Fontenot, Ronny Cedeno, or Ryan Theriot won't be able to play there and put up good numbers again?
  23. CF since I don't see any options immediately available who can play it with regularity and post respectable offensive numbers.
  24. I'd feel really bad about seeing Wood go. However, this is a business. Wood's injury history is of concern to me. Plus, while he provided stability and talent in the bullpen, there are other options out there. Guys like Ceda, Wuertz, Gaudin, and Samardzija could all fill his role without a large drop-off. Fuentes and other FA options could also be available at reasonable prices. If he wants three years and big money, it'd be time to let him go.
