may have had something to do with cabrera and do we still think miller is even that good? Considering his history, potential, and lack of major league service time, yes. potential, yes, but what history? his small minor league career has mixed numbers. the only place he's really been that good was aa at age 22 (4 starts) and then a few brief appearances in A ball from 21-23 that made his career numbers look good. if you take out that 4 start stretch at aa there's not much to get that excited about, numbers wise, and so far at the major league level he's shown nothing. I was thinking more along the lines of what made him a serious contender for the #1 overall pick in the 2006 draft and what made him the eventual #6 overall pick. You cannot ignore what he showcased in college, especially considering his current age. Also, you have to frame his career in context. What you are saying makes it sound like he's been out of college for a significant period of time. You also make it sound like he only spent a short amount of time in the minor leagues in 2007. In fact, he spent half the season (78 innings) in the minors and pitched quite well there in 2007. I really do not think that you can overlook those 11 starts, especially given Miller's short and limited career.
