Oklahoma losing in the second round isn't too stupid, imo. They have one awesome player, one pretty good player, and a whole lotta nothing. I'm not that high on Michigan, though. I really wanted to pick Oklahoma to lose early. I had them tabbed as a second round loser before the tournament. I just don't trust Michigan or Clemson. I'd say Clemson would be more likely to beat them, but I'm not picking a team that finished the way they did. I also don't like Syracuse, Arizona State or Temple much either. So I'm left with Oklahoma in the Elite Eight -- which I still doubt happens. Oh well. I went with ASU in the Elite Eight. I really like Harden and Pendergraph for some reason.

Also, if it weren't for their terrible FT%, I'd seriously consider taking Portland State over Xavier. Portland State fits the profile for an out of nowhere Cinderella and Xavier strikes me as a team that can be caught napping.

You want him to make the 25 man roster? Do you know Wellington Castillo's background at all? Castillo is a 21 year old Catcher who only first experienced offensive success last season at Double-A. His upside would be completely wasted on Chicago's bench (assuming he's big league ready, which I seriously doubt he is). Gaining more polish and establishing a more significant track record of success at the minor league level is the best thing for Castillo. Plus if he hits at Iowa the way he did last season in Tennessee he could then become a good piece of trade bait come next Winter. Sitting on the bench backing up Soto wouldn't help his value at all. Castillo profiles more as a backup catcher than as a starter. He doesn't have much power and I'm a bit skeptical of his ability to sustain a batting average around .280/.300 in the majors. I agree that he could use more time in the minors, but that's because he needs more experience calling games and working on the finer aspects of catching. I don't see him having a Soto-like breakout. -
I'm reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally tempted to pick Portland State over Xavier, but that requires a few too many things to happen for me to feel comfortable doing it.

I like the Giants' rotation, but their bullpen is meh and their offense is decidedly bad. If they get some good offensive players out of guys like Posey, Noonan, Gillaspie, Villalona, etc., then I can see them competing in 2010 and 2011. This season? Doubtful.

If Lawson's healthy, they should make the Final Four. If not, they might not even make it to the Elite Eight.

I want to pick Villanova to go deep but I think the UCLA game is about as much of a toss-up as you can have in a 3-6. I can't talk myself into picking anything but 1's and 2's. And I hate taking the chalk. And I am strongly considering VCU over UCLA. :oops: I don't think UCLA has a chance against Nova in Philadelphia, especially with Collison playing injured. I picked VCU over your guys. Sorry. I hate picking games where it seems like everyone is picking the upset. Something about that game reeks.

I really do not like the Badgers' matchup with FSU. FSU plays good defense and has the kind of player in Toney Douglas that would give the Badgers fits. I can talk myself into the upset, but it's not a great argument.
