Considering the FA market is absolutely wretched at 3B this offseason, rolling the dice with Stewart wouldn't be a bad move. He'd at the very least be an upgrade over DeWitt.
I'm not a huge fan of giving Capuano anything more than a one year deal with something like a vesting option for a second year based on IP. Regarding Wei Yin Chen, do you know if he's declared free agency yet? Apparently he has that option available if he wants to jump to the other side of the pond.
From the Fan Graphs article: Works for me! Oakland's park has an insane amount of foul territory, to boot, so hopefully the move to Wrigley will help his numbers.
That goal line screen at the end of the first half was a mind-numbingly awful call. Hanie shouldn't have thrown it in the first place, but what a terrible call.
Arkansas is still looming and will probably end up at #3 tomorrow. After that...it's anyone's guess between VTech, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Boise State, and Houston to round out the Top 5. Yeesh.
Utah can still win the Pac-12 South if Arizona State loses to Arizona tonight and Cal next week; USC beats UCLA, and Utah takes care of business against Colorado.
I have complete and utter faith that LSU will screw up in the SEC title game against Georgia. A championship game selected from Alabama/Oklahoma/Oregon would be pretty nifty.
I love seeing that. This team has some tremendous depth and a ton of sleeper candidates in the lower levels. If things go right next season, we might have ourselves a Top 5 system once again.
Sickels' writeup of the Royals' Top 20 prospects If we're looking at lower level prospects in a hypothetical trade, Jorge Bonifacio, Jason Adam, and Tim Melville are guys I like.
I don't think the punter is fast enough to out run everyone in 9 seconds. Then they get the ball in your territory with a shot to win it. Why would you snap the ball to the punter? When you punt the ball out of bounds, the clock doesn't stop until the ball hits the ground. I don't think Podlesh would have been able to run 9 seconds off the clock if given the opportunity.
