  1. They've done an outstanding job of drafting players since Epstein took over. They're willing to spend, plus they do a really nice job of finding diamond in the rough types.
  2. Do they still have Gold Medal Ribbon? That's some of the best ice cream ever. Cripes, the announcement can't come soon enough...
  3. It isn't his decision to make, but the Red Sox have been really good about giving their talented young players opportunities (Papelbon, Pedroia, Ellsbury, Buchholz, Lester, etc.). Hopefully he'll bring that mentality with him to the Cubs...assuming he signs.
  4. He wants more money.
  5. This is brilliant. Works for me!
  6. Theo for President Cherington for GM Ricketts for God
  7. It reminded me of the time I wrote a five page paper for Creative Writing about how I couldn't find a topic for my paper.
  8. So, can we now start up the Cashman to the Cubs rumors since the Yankees just got bounced from the playoffs?
  9. I [expletive] hate the Yankees...yet I also [expletive] hate Jose Valverde. Choices, choices.
  10. One of the best arms I've ever seen on a catcher. I remember seeing him throw out runners while on his knees.
  11. I wonder if the plus arm evaluation is based on his age, rather than based on where it currently is relative to arms like Castro and Barney. Hernandez might be a prospect who could beef up his arm strength to plus level with the right conditioning regimen.
  12. Just going by guys who are on the 40 man but not the big league roster, could Smit and Maine be amongs the mystery men? Maybe Schlitter, but I dont remember exactly when he was returned to us. The French Maid kind of looks like James Russell.
  13. Thank God the wedding reception had a TV. That was a hell of a fun game to watch.
  14. From what I've been able to piece together... L-R in the back row: Darwin Barney (Chinese food), Casey Coleman (Hannibal), DJ LeMahieu (Na'vi), Brian LaHair (ref), Steve Clevenger (black and gold), Tony Campana (lime green), Andrew Cashner (Hef), Rafael Dolis (red and white polka dot), Tyler Colvin (red and black, missed last year's due to being impaled), ?, ?, John Gaub (light blue) Front Row: No idea
  15. Rendon went #6 this year, I do believe. There was also a ton of talent in last years draft. Rendon slid more because of his asking price than his talent. He had some injury concerns, but you could have made a strong case for him going #1 overall.
  16. Considering Kansas just emerged from a brutal federal investigation that led to prison time for five employees due to a multimillion dollar ticket scandal, I'd be surprised if the B1G wanted anything to do with Kansas regardless of academics.
  17. Teams are set. Have at it. NLDS: Phillies in 4, Milwaukee in 5 ALDS: Tigers in 5, Rangers in 5 NLCS: Brewers in 7 ALCS: Tigers in 6 World Series: Tigers in 5 I just know I'm going to end up being horribly, horribly wrong. However, I really like Verlander/Fister and I think the Tigers are well-balanced.
  18. So, when the 50 for 50 Documentary on the 2011 Miami Heat's failures against the Mavericks comes out in 20 years, will it feature 20 minutes' worth of material on Carl Crawford?
  19. That needs to be a middle finger now.
  20. We're now clear to talk to him! Also: http://sadtrombone.com/
  21. Boston just blew it with two outs in the 9th. Mwahahahahahahahaha
