  1. Pete, if there ever was a time for your first half self to make a comeback...
  2. GET A horsefeathers RUN IN OR I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL BAN EVERY MOTHER horsefeathers IN THIS THREAD.
  3. I'm happy with Jamo's results so far, but I'd be shocked to see him go more than 3 IP today. Second time through the order with his stuff...yikes.
  4. People are crapping on PCA and Happ for not hitting, but he's been as bad as them without anyone commenting on it.
  5. Can we also discuss the fact that Matt Shaw's sole offensive contribution to date was a sac bunt? I (vaguely) get the hate for everyone else, but the guy's avoided criticism around these parts so far.
  6. Side note, but, as pointed out on Defector this morning, Mason Miller has the honor of being possibly the only pitcher to throw an Immaculate White Castle Inning: 9 Filthy Sliders in a Row:
  7. He should also slide head first into 1B, because everyone knows that's faster.
  8. It's the hardest part of the playoffs. During the regular season, if you're playing a crap team, Busch's hit finds a hole and Shota's wobbliness doesn't come back to bite them, but in the playoffs, every issue and bad bounce is magnified x 100. They're still very much in this game, but the combination of the Padres bullpen and slumping bats don't exactly inspire hope.
  9. We all knew it was coming with Shota. Let him finish out the inning, and then Rea/Soroka to finish out the game unless the offense actually does something?
  10. They'll get to Cease; it's just a matter of when. The bigger issue is going to be Shota keeping the ball in the park.
  11. Considering the Padres only got one run out of 2 men on, no outs, I'll take that outcome.
