  1. Holy crap, the board just had a meltdown
  2. "I'm happy my name is in the record books, but it doesnt matter because we lost" --Sammy Sosa.
  3. Ugh. No kidding. I will be going bannana's sunday at work. Haha. I can just picture Roast completely ignoring his boss while trying to find out if the Cubs have traded for anyone. Yea, sadly so can I. Bob (my boss): Jamie, I need you to ring this up, i'm doing a delivery. Me: #### you bob. *calls one of my friends for cubs update*
  4. Ugh. No kidding. I will be going bannana's sunday at work.
  5. "WE WANT A PITCHER NOT A BELLY ITCHER" I hear the shrubs are too shy to join in the taunting. Sissy's.
  6. What do we do for the next 10 years?

  8. Ichiro just got a 4/44 extension. I'd be absolutely shocked if he didn't get a No Trade Clause as well. If he did get that clause, I might classify him as the least likely player in MLB to be successfully traded. I dont SEE one in his contract. Unless it just isnt listed there: Ichiro Suzuki of 4 years/$44M (2004-07) * $6M signing bonus * 04:$5M, 05:$11M, 06:$11M, 07:$11M; avoided arbitration 12/03 * housing allowance ($28,000 in 04, $29,000 in 05, $30,000 in 06, $31,000 in 07) * interpreter, trainer, ground transportation for Spring Training & regular season * 4 annual round-trip airline tickets from Seattle to Japan * $1.5M in incentives for PAs: o $50,000 each for 400 PAs, 2004-06 $0.1M each for 500 & 600 PAs, 2004-06 $0.1M for 400 PAs, 2007 $0.2M for 500 & 600 PAs, 2007 * $50,000 All Star incentive * 3 years/$14.088M (2001-03) * $5M signing bonus, 01:$5M, 02:$2M, 03:$3M * $7M deferred with interest ($4M of bonus, $2M of 2001 salary, $1M of 2003 salary) * incentives: 01:$2M, 02:$3M, plus $0.125M All Star incentive * Seattle paid $13M for negotiating rights with Ichiro * agent: Tony Attanasio * ML service: 4.000
  9. Suzuki as in Ichiro? Is that even the slightest bit possible? I think that Seattle moving Ichiro is as unlikely a thing as you would see. Thats what I thought. I wouldnt be willing to give up what it would take to get him. Unless hendry pulls off some miracle worthy of regocnition and enshrinment in the holy roman catholic church. Jimmy H is pretty sneaky that way! I suppose it's more my wish list than anything. Very true. But, Thats still getting close to impossible in my opinion. I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to see it happen though. But it seems like a pipe dream to me.

  11. It was on ESPN or something, i do beleive.

  13. Guaranteed through 2008 with team options in 2009 and 2010. Any sort of buyout on those options? Not to my knowledge. Manny also gets a 1 million dollar bonus if traded. I don't know if this means he gets 1 million dollars once, or if 1 million is added to his salary every year, but I believe it is the former. He can't ask to be traded can he since he is in the middle of a multi year contract? I'd hate to see the Cubs go right back into another Sosa situation. I agree. Now that I look at it more. Its starting to scare me. I'd still probably take him. But not unless they pay alot of his contract. I want dunn even more than before.
  14. 06 I beleive. (EDIT: I stand corrected) And, after looking at things again, Dunn probably is a better choice than manny. However, I'll take either of them with a smile on my face.
  15. If we get manny I will scream like a schoolgirl. :willynilly:
  16. Try winning it before the last second this time, losers.
  17. Well, since we already have a thread about this. IN BEFORE LOCK/MERGE
  18. Dunn: .245/.386/.570 28 HR 63 RBI Manny: .273/.368/.571 28 HR 92 RBI How so? Manny has the edge in every category except OBP. And they are tied in HR's. I will agree with the age and contract thing though. What you also have to keep in mind though, is these numbers (avg/obp/slg) are down from manny's career numbers. Dunns are right on par. One could say manny is havign a bad season or playing unhappy, and still outproducing dunn.
  19. Well, one is probably the mets. The other is probably us. Unless houston....well, They dont have that much payroll flexability, do they?
  20. Well, last night it was chacon, today it wsa nevin, now its bigbie. The wheels are in motion, friends. Also, someone change the title plz.
  21. Well, If we are going to destroy the system, then why go through so many steps? Trade a buttload of talent for Manny Ramirez. Trade talent for Billy Wagner. Trade talent for some other solid releiver. No need to make it complicated. Of course, destroying the farm system is a baaaaaaad Idea.
