    Okay, WHAT evidence do you have that farns has taken steroids??? He's not that big. He's just tall and ripped. That means he is strong and lifts weights. Puhleese. Nothing like grasping for straws. This steroid speculation is so increadably stupid, imo. There is no way of telling.....well.....jsut go reat Tree's post.

    Oh, I agree it probably wont be retired while he's still playing. I see sammy hanging around the big leagues for another two or so years. And I'm sure they wont retire it till he enters the hall anyways. However, like i said, its probably 'unofficially' retired. I doubt anyone will actually wear that number. But untill the team and sosa mend the little rift between them, and sosa is inducted, i doubt that they actually hang a flag with his number on it. Allthough, a "SAMMY" flag does still fly on the roof....

    No thanks. He's doing a decent job for us this year. But he's not getting any younger, and we already have a plethora of outfield options. Besides, with all the money that will be cleared from sosa's contract, I'd like to see us go out and trade for someone like an Adam Dunn and give him a multi year contract.

    Replace "DFA Macias" with "Send down Mitre" and that's how I expect the transactions to go down. That wont work. Nomar and williamson currently do not count against the 40 man roster, since they are on the sixty day DL. So, we need to clear two spots to make room for the two players. Hense I am DFAing two people. Allthough, i agree, they will find some way to keep macias. Doh, now that I think about it, i think we only have 39 guys on the 40 man right now, so we only have to DFA one person. *sigh*

    Well, not that I beleive a word that Levine says, but: I am torn on this idea. It'll be awful nice to have a real centerfielder with great defense on the squad. Real nice. But, This, obviously, means sending Murton down. Unless Dusty has decided to go with 11 pitchers instead of 12, in which case maybe it means having one less Pitcher. Maybe: Bring up Patterson, Activate Nomar, Activate Williamson, Activate Wood, Send down Cedeno, DFA Macias, DFA Remlinger, Send down Wuertz. Of course, thats pretty much a pipe dream, I think.

    26 already is out. Out before 10 was. And with any luck, 21 will be retired within a few years, also (depending on when he decides to hang them up) I would immagine that its kinda unofficially retired right now anyways, just like 23. I doubt anyone even thinks about wearing those numbers.

    I've never heard an announcer go that nuts. And I listen to ron santo every game. The most I have ever heard santo say (though it is rather often) " OOOHHHH come ON!!!!, Where was THAT??!!!!! I thought that pitch was a strike!"
