  1. You wont get anywhere without putting Pie's name in the discussion, especially not if your only letting him take 3 players. If they trade him they will want to get the base for a good young team in return, as I said previously a Package like Pie, Hill, Cedeno, and Dope would be a good start. And then I'd pay for all of Tejada's contract too. I honestly doubt it will cost us Pie to get Tejada. If we give them enough pitching prospects, plus Cedeno and another bat, he can be ours. Just look at the other deals that are going on right now, no one has really had to give up their top prospect for anyone, and seldom does a top prospect get shipped unless he is in the Yanks system. I honestly doubt that we can do it without pie (unless we trade Prior/Z). And what do the other deals going down have to do with anything? No one remotley close to Tejada's class has been offered.
  2. Reality, dude. Check it out. Joke, dude. Check it out.
  3. Eek!! Forgot about the LoDuca/delgado thing.. Ok, so i see your point with the mets. But Why cant the Marlins have had a great offseason? They went into the offseason wanting to improve their team, and they did that. The team, as was, was going nowhere. So they did what they needed to do and got a heap of young talent in return. In a few years they are most likely going to be a very competitive team. Why cant that be considered sucess? They are doing what they need to to their team and doing it well. The Padre's are certainly having a good offseason when you compare it to the rest of baseball. They got a stud OFer for fairly cheap when you look at the market. That was a sucess, so I beleive their offseason is sucessfull so far.

  5. .320/.367/.544 Thats the Nomar love. And no, thats not the best year of his career. Those are his career stats. And so he's an injury risk. Give him a 4 Mil base contract with an extra 6-8 million in incentives based on plate apperances. That way if he bombs, then he only costs us a couple mil, but if he turns out to be gold, then well we get what we want. A productive SS.
  6. The article says: EDIT: ......I dOnT Reed GooD
  7. I'll take some of that. Your darn right.
  8. Hendry has hinted that he wanted Cedeno starting, but ugh, Its dusty man. Besides, When you might even have the SLIGHTEST chance of getting A guy like Tejada, you try.
  9. For me it goes: 1- Marlins (they are gonna be a serious force in a couple years) 2- Padres (Giles for 3/30!) 3- Redsox (Beckett + Mota...sweet) 4- Rangers (they fleeced the Nats) also participated: Blue Jays - THey spent alot of money and are going to be weighted down by those big contracts in a few years, their payroll was only 50 MIl last year... White Sox- Got Konerko back, but the Thome trade was a huge risk. Rowand was very good, and who knows what Thome will give you? Dodgers- They got furcal, but their team is still in disarray. Kent at first? seriously now.. Cubs- DFA'd Macias! Got a couple BP arms. Probably overpayed for Pierre a bit, letting a great player like Walker slip away, Still need a stud Outfielder. Signed Neifi... Mets- So they got a closer...Wohoo?
  10. Believing something posted on an ESPN message board will get you nowhere in a hurry. Unless many actually heard XM report this, I'm guessing there is not a lot of truth there. I heard it on XM, as well. Not sure how valid it is, but I did hear them mention it. Allright well this is good, at least we know it was mentioned, which means it is probably valid that we at least contacted them. THis is definatley good new.
  11. Okay, so wow. Tejada has a career .338 OBP  Ick? His career ops is .815.... Thats kinda shocking. Also kinda interesting, the last time Tejada missed a game was in 2000, when he only played 160 games  What is it about oriole shortstops?
  12. Exactly, If we want to get him, we are most likely going to have to overpay a tad, and I'm fine with that. They dont HAVE to trade him, so they wont do it unless wowed, if at all. I'm on with sulley here, Pie & Cedeno and anything else they want. Pie, Cedeno, Dopirak, Hill, $$$, Hendry's big toe, whatever it takes.
  13. I dont know if the O's would trade him or not, but since it was reported he wanted out, why not give the O's a call. If this rumor that hendry contacted them is true, i'd be happy he is at least checking into it. I'd offer pretty much anything for Miggy. I'd offer them something along the lines of: Pie, Cedeno, Hill, & Dope. And I'd pay some/all of Tejada's contract too. Cuse pointed out that something along those lines would be a good start for a young team. I think that would, if nothing else, make him give us some serious consideration
  14. Please don't exaggerate. I've told him that a million times. Aside from the fact that that comment is quite condescending, I dont think you have. I believe that was a joke - "I've told him that a million times." is exaggerating. True...I haven't even told him once. WOw.... I'll just go crawl back in my hole now. How did i miss that?

  16. Its not so much hate as realization that he's vastly overrated. I beleive Tim has done a very good job of describing why he (we) feel he is overrated a couple of times. I'd give you a link if i had one. But what it boils down to is even when he bats .300+ he is not getting his obp more than 20/30 points higher than his AVG, meaning he doesnt walk. At all. And some people have a facination with his speed. Speed is fine, but he cant steal to save his life, he gets caught 25% of the time. Plus his defense (mainly the routes he takes to the ball, and his arm) are terrible. He makes up for the routes with his speed most of the time, however. And I never ever said it wouldnt be better than last years outfield. But we could still do so much better, why settle when plausable upgrades are out there?
  17. A hawk quote? Modzilla is not pleased.
  18. Thank you texas for rejecting that offer. I have a sick feeling that if we get mench then Hendry will be content with the outfield. Mench/Pierre/Murton would suck massivley.
  19. I bet you could get him for Pie + a few arms.
  20. QUICK somebody call tree to make a Microsoft Paint rendition of this great day! WOW. Okay, I'm going to bed. Happy Roast sleeps good.
  21. HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHA I love my life. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA
