Eh. Obviously going from chase to Seattle isn't going to help but he was pretty much the same hitter on the road last year. True. But I suspect he will go back to not being good, because that's how he has been most of his career. I think this is a little overstated. He's had two good years (his best coming last year in a bad lineup), two bad years, and one mediocre year. Yes, taking him out of Chase will possibly hurt his power, but that spacious park could yield more doubles and triples. If you take his road splits from last year and extrapolate them to 150 games, he'd have 40 doubles, 4 triples, and 16 HR while playing a good defensive SS. If he goes 35/10/15 and continues to OPS .867 from the SS position, I think it's a good return. Hitting in front of Cano, Cruz and Seager probably benefits him more than hitting in front of Chris Owings, Jake Lamb and Goldy. Hitting behind someone other than a pitcher may drive up his RBI totals, as well. As pedestrian as Walker has been, and given his slightly inflated OPS away from Safeco, I can't see a reason to get too worked up over the deal from Seattle's perspective.
