  1. Why can't the Reds and Jays just make the deal between them? The prospects coming from the Angels were not going to be good, anyway, and it's not as though the Jays don't have a couple of those guys lying around.
  2. Guessing at this point, he spends as much time in Iowa as he does Chicago. If he could keep the HR down, he wouldn't be an awful arm to have in the pen, I suppose.
  3. I'm not a fan of either team, and it was an ugly offensive game, but Carolina had the ball only down 6 halfway through the 4th quarter. I'd take that over what the Seahawks did to Denver two years ago. I like defensive struggles.

    NSD 2016

Nigel Knott decommits from Ole Miss and commits to Bama.
  5. In a league where guys like Ray Rice and Greg Hardy have jobs, I don't see Manziel being banished. Difference is though those 2 guys are actually good at football, Manziel probably isn't. Also Ray Rice has been out of the league since his incident. Perhaps. And yet it's nearly a 100% lock that both will be on NFL rosters next season.

  7. The Cowboys could end up with RGIII to back up Romo. Or they could do the really dumb thing and end up with Manziel.

    NSD 2016

It's ok. Only people with nothing else to do care about recruiting classes. Why is that?

    NSD 2016

Jeez, just looked and Texas' class is ranked 46th!! Strong has got to go, right? That should be totally unacceptable. Will probably finish top 10. Only 14 commits with 10-12 coming on NSD. But yeah he has 1 season to prove it before Herman is made a nice offer. I don't think they get there. There are still 7 teams outside the Top 10 who are sitting in much better position, who will add anywhere from 5-8 more players each. I still think they get into the 12-15 range, though.

    NSD 2016

This Ole Miss stuff sounds serious, and yet I can't see their class falling apart this close to NSD. We will see how opportunistic other programs are, but with this being the final weekend of Official Visits, I just can't imagine there being that much movement. It seems like Richt's first class at Miami is going to be a struggle. About to lose a Top 100 CB to Tennessee.
  11. Cole is a guy I'd take a shot at. 24 years old, appears ready to make the jump and stick in the bigs. I agree that I don't think it would be a straight up 1-for-1, but I'd at least ask.
  12. Angels could be another landing spot.
  13. Rated 3rd best 2B prospect in the game, according to this link: http://m.cubs.mlb.com/news/article/162587352/prospect-watch-top-10-second-basemen-for-2016 It may speak more to the level of prospects currently at the position, but at this stage in his career, I'll take it.
  14. 16-team keeper league, allowed to keep up to 13 Major Leaguers. I have enough points to keep either combo of players. So, looking ahead at 2016, would you rather have: Ben Zobrist and Johnny Cueto or Jose Altuve and James Shields What say you?
  15. He's making the 2nd highest single season salary ever this year plus gets the opt out. He apparently had longer/higher total deals out there. 27.5 is the 2nd highest single season salary ever?

    Tampa

Living just south of Tampa, I have been hearing it from Rays fans for a few days. They expect to deal Cobb for Soler. Fans are generally dumb, though.
  17. Though it's been reported already, it's still great to see guys like this not sign with the Cardinals. Davis and the Orioles are a good fit, and I like it that he stayed put.
  18. 5/15 so far. I'm pretty terrible at this.
  19. Like the deal for the Jays. Not as much from the Nats perspective.
  20. I love the "silly season" in College Football. Rumors out there that if Alabama wins tonight, Saban goes to Indianapolis to coach the Colts. I'm guess there's less than 1% chance this rumor is true, but if it turns out to be true, you have to think Alabama hires Dabo Swinney as their next coach. Has there ever been a championship game in which both schools lose their coach immediately after? Also, go Clemson. I have Alabama fatigue.
  21. Wow, never thought I'd say it, but those TN goons were correct. Penn State appears to be a bit of a dumpster fire right now. What's going on up there?
  22. Seems to be a lot of smoke around Bob Shoop to Tennessee on Monday. I had heard this for several days from TN friends, but now, Penn State message boards are saying it's true. Could take 2-3 coaches with him. That could get interesting. What is James Franklin doing, other than alienating the entire known world?
  23. I disagree. That said, I do think that if Penn State and Nebraska can improve to program-standard levels, the Big Ten is a really solid conference. I think it hurts national perception when schools like Iowa and Northwestern luck their ways into the National spotlight, only to be exposed by good or decent teams.
  24. Northwestern was hilariously terrible. So is Iowa. Living in ACC/SEC country, I had no idea how awful some of these Big Ten teams were. Very top-heavy conference (much like the ACC.) Top-heavy? Their top two teams were/are being humiliated. Very top-heavy. Iowa was the product of a laughably weak schedule and Northwestern was the product of an incredibly lucky early season win over Stanford. Last night notwithstanding, Sparty is a very good football team. Not as good as Alabama, clearly, but still a really good team. OSU is one of the best teams in the country, too. And I think Michigan has been moving in that direction all season. Those 3 could compete in any conference in the country on a week-to-week basis. But those are the only 3 who could. The SEC probably has 5-7 schools who could. The ACC has 2.
