  1. If we trade up and get Landry I'll pee myself. He is a sure-fire stud, and based on some of the film I have seen of him he is one mean s.o.b. that enjoys hitting people. I love him. Landry is the only guy I would want to trade up for. Otherwise, keep the picks you have. This draft class appears to be very deep when it comes to LB's. A very good one should be around 31 or 37. I say keep it too. Blalock and Sears are uber quality guards too. If those 2 guys are gone and all the qualitly LB's are gone it would be shocking. The Bears just might get both of those needs with these picks and not have to 'reach'. EDIT: Look at what the FA guards are getting last year and this year. Teams are paying huge somes of money for this position that is not valued in the draft. You can get the 1st or 2nd best guards for a late 1st rounder/early 2nd rounder but have to pay $7M on the open market for non pro bowl guards. More to keeping the picks.
  2. Moving up the equivalent number of spots that the Bears moved would essentially cost a late 2nd or early 3rd round pick. The Bears basically traded Benson for a late 2nd or early 3rd, and then traded that pick and their 2nd to move up. I don't think he got hosed. 2nd round draft picks are extremely valuable trade chips. I guess this is where I would make a lousy NFL GM, I woulda helpd out and made the Jets pay more, if not, make Jones play angry. Whattya think we can get for Briggs now that he is pissed off? A pissed off Branch was worth a low 1st round pick. Briggs could be worth a little more. However, Abraham was traded a couple years ago and the Jets just got a first round pick.
  3. Lou doesnt drop a 'few' F Bombs in the clubhouse. He napalms the place.
  4. According to a draft board the difference the Bears made up is equivalant to the 2nd pick in the 3rd round. Getting a mid 2nd round pick would have been the best case for TJ. I've been very critical of TJ's game but man did he play great in the playoffs and SB this year. He earned my respect. I would of liked to have him for one more year but if they were to trade him I think they got what he was worth. Bears save about $2.25M in salary, Im not sure of the cap savings.
  5. I remeber all this too. Prior was around 89 in his rehab assingments, he eventually add some more ticks on his fastball later with work. I feel better hearing 89. This is a very workable ST foundation.
  6. its the Jets 37th pick. doesnt seem like they really got much. whats better moving up from late second to early second or just getting a third.
  7. Didnt these guys make fun of the cubs last year too. Asses.
  8. No kidding. It's his first start. As long as tomorrow he isnt sore, then all went well, IMO. Its hard to get sore throwing so slow
  9. Well if things keep going the way they are im on the fast track to visiting this place.
  10. they used their allocation of walks for the game and the inning was automatically over.
  11. It's his first start in spring training after having two years of injuries. I'd expect that he'd be a little rusty agreed as long as he's not rob dibble wild.
  12. Bruce, anything on Priors velocity? I dont think we are going to get that from these mariner guys
  13. Yeah even though its spring training i think this is important too. Im more interested in priors than wood but im still curious about wood.
  14. The Cubs are pitching like there is a tomorrow today.
  15. Patriots are set to offer RFA WR Wes Welker a 7 year $38.5M. This deal sounds more lucrative than the one the Seahawks gave Deion Branch last year after trading the Pats for. Plus this will cost the Pats their 2nd round pick.
  16. What is it you are not happy with?
  17. Well i guess it is better than IN the mouth. Here is the part i thought Ozzie was a real dick. I know....as if he wasnt one before. "He forgot he lost a couple of games for us," Guillen said of McCarthy, who was 4-7 with a 4.68 ERA. "He lost at least five of the 72. We might be in the playoffs without him." Nice.
