Izzy is near the bottom on my priority list for this year, no team is perfect, if they dont go to the playoffs because of him they musta had a helluva year otherwise. Don't get me wrong, it is important he do well. Nobody in the NL comes close to scaring me. If Prior is healthy and solid they are ones to beat. Can still make the playoffs but much more has to go right.

    Mussina got the L and gave up 4 runs to the Detroit Tigers in the playoffs last year. THE Detroit Tigers. I dont think he's ever pitched in the world series.

    I can't disagree. Remember what Pentland did for Sammy? Whether you think he was on the roids or not, there was a definite change in Sammy's approach in 98 and after. That said, Aramis is further along at this point in his career than pre-98 Sammy, and I think he's already closer to his ceiling, so I don't expect an insane jump in his numbers. Soriano is also a guy who could benefit from the right approach. There is no reason Aramis shouldnt have an OBP around .375 Yeah, Soriano needs to layoff the curve balls away and out of the zone like sammy finally did. Recognize quicker. Aramis needs to wait for his pitch more and see more pitches, Soriano needs to stop chasing bad balls.

    Aramis. He's the one with the most to benefit. He's got the skills to improve at the plate with good coaching. Aramis could define Perry's success.

    Can they send Miller to AAA if he doesn't accept a demotion? He'll probably ask for his release. Im sure some other MLB team has a room in there rotation for him. If all are healthy this rotation is going to be a lighting rod for discussion.

    If Briggs is signed long term no need to try and build depth in the first round. Ive read some good things about Sears and it sounds like he is versatile too. If Steinbach is signed im a little less interested in him, they can build OL depth in the 2nd-4th round. DT isnt very interesting this draft outside of Branch. TE seems very likely. Olson is a very interesting prospect who could come in and have an immediate impact. Im not a fan of awarding huge contracts to a TE and a late first round pick isnt a huge risk and the Bears would still have him for 5 years. Last year i didnt want TE because i thought Clark was good. He didnt look impressive because Orton was the Qb. Orton was all about outs and curls. He didnt risk throwing the ball over the middle to get Dez involved. If Steinbach is not signed Sears or the guard from Texas would probably top my list then Olson.
