  1. The dude thought he kd on a 2nd strike and then hill double dips and dude wiffs again.
  2. Hill pumps a lot of fastballs in the inning. The curve kd one guy swinging, and the last out the curve was grounded out up the middle.
  3. and its a good thing its not jimmy anderson. a while back when i saw the roster i thougth they invited his fat ass back to ST again. Whew it was Jason.
  4. Seahawks released DE Grant Wistrom. "You can't help but think that the Seahawks replaced one overpaid free agent mistake at defensive end with another in Patrick Kerney. Wistrom got $14 million guaranteed three years ago ,but struggled to stay healthy. He can still help a team, but may not be a starter. The Seahawks will count Wistrom as a "June 2nd" cut to spread out his cap hit. Bryce Fisher and Darrell Tapp are slated to play opposite Kerney. " Somebody mentioned Winstom earlier in this thread i think.
  5. Member when Sammy during his heyday would pulverize ST pitching hittin like a dozen HR's. That was awesome. Now would be time to start doing that again. He's on that track.
  6. I don't know if there is room. Lou likes him. I don't think there's going to be room for Wuertz. That would be a catastrophic mistake. Really? I don't have any emotional attachment to anyone in the pen (except Kerry). I just want people who will get outs... I know Wuertz has been good but he'll have to prove himself with a new manager; he's not the type of player with a guaranteed spot. Speaking of which, I read yesterday that Ohman's spot may be up for grabs. Can you justify how someone like Cotts has a guaranteed spot, but Wuertz doesn't? It's not about me justifying it, I'm just telling you what Lou said about Rocky Cherry. It shouldn't be lost on anyone that Piniella continues to call on the guy in pressure spots (and he keeps delivering). The way I see it, Cotts has more versatility because he can start and go long (I think that's why the Cubs like him as well). As it stands, Wuertz has to fight to stay, Novoa is on the outside looking, and Ohman's spot might be available (if you believe Sullivan). Cherry is also is situation where all the MLB players on the opposing team are sitting on the bench. He really hasnt faced anyone yet. That's not completely true and really it isn't going to mean anything if Lou decides he makes the team. It matters in how you review his accomplishments now.

  8. So is Cotts going to make it because he would be the 'long man'. Ohman just signed a 2 year deal for over $2M, he's on the team. 3 lefties in the pen, dont think anyone else has that. Cherry is doing well but he belongs starting the season in AAA as the closer. He'll get his chance, someone will go the DL sooner or later and poof he'll be in the big show.
  9. Ronny with another walk today. 4 total in 17AB The Riot good. Iz. Dude is grabbing the hits!
  10. He wasnt as rated as high as he is now because of his recent combine. This draft was done before the combine and i dont think accurately projects what his value is now, running a 4.53 helped out a lot. Lotsa good LB no doubt in this draft. Timmons would be a fantastic pick if he slips. I don't see Timmons making it that far, but that would be a no-brainer at 31, not to mention 37. If he starts slipping, the 2 pretty high picks makes it easier to trade up. Angelo has never been one to move up for a targetted player, though. Also not be nitpicky Briggs actually plays the weak side which is where the play is supposed to flow to often in this scheme (like Derrick Brooks). Whoever comes in in all likelihood didn't play this type of defense in college and will be "learning a new position", so it really just comes down to if a player has the physical skills to play the position. Thanks, i always hear he is weak side but i thought SAM for some reason. Harris it is :D

  12. Dolphins sign S Cameron Worrell to a 2 year deal. No surprise that Cam is gone. I too like Gonzalez, if they are to draft a WR he is on my short list. Meachem will be gone. I also like David Harris. Just because he is listed at MLB doesnt mean he couldnt play the SAM that Briggs plays. He's bigger and faster than Briggs. He could play the middle if urlacher is out. Of course he would have to learn the new position so that is not in his favor.
  13. Hey a player requesting a trade i actually like. Fine ship miller if he can't start, i wouldnt want him in the BP anyway. And yeah, if Wuertz is not on the 25 man i am going to be all kinds of pissed off, ESPECIALLY if Novoa is on. Lou will come through for me though....i hope.
  14. Jamal Lewis is still only 27. Im suprised so many believe he's washed up.
  15. Ok um....this is quite a change from the combine... Florida safety Reggie Nelson ran a 4.35 forty at Florida's Pro Day Wednesday.
  16. If Lou wants to make a statement about P's walking guys, getting rid of Novoa is a good place to start.
  17. That was sweet. His 32 oz orange soda flew everywhere.
  18. DP Ball?? Guess we wont know, cant see it!
  19. Feast or famine this offense will be, I'm warning ya. How many long counts did the Cubs get into this inning? Not to be the consistant dark cloud out there, but something to look out for. Yes, they will put up crooked scores but this lineup is more OBP balanced. That should help offset the famine portions they went through last year.
  20. DeRosa is drawing a LOT of walks this spring it seems like. That's exactly what I was thinking-that's his 4th walk in ST I believe. Yeah this is good to see.
  21. This lineup 1 through 6 is going to do some serious damage this year. It will be fun. I posted this when it was 1-0, now its 4-0
  22. Jayson Stark said on M&M this morning that Prior was throwing 81 and 82. No one has even come close to mentioning these numbers. This seems like irresponsible journalism. Give the story some time and soon it will be he was throwing in the high 70's. Jeez
  23. Mine's half empty. but for some reason I'm always positive about the cubs. I dont use a glass. I drink straight from the tap. My optimism is off the charts.
  24. Dempsters first appearance? Weurtz, havent seen him yet.
  25. My impression is Murton is seriously being considered for the #2 spot. I know its early but after hearing what lou wants out of the spot is a patient hitter who can hit deep in the counts so as to give Soriano good opportunities to steal a base that sure sounds like Murton fits those requirements. Izzy is not in the 2 spot today and Murton is sitting. Im leaning heavily that #2 is Matts spot.
