  1. Dline didnt do much today. Reminded me of last couple years defenses. Allowed Sanchez to actually look like a good nfl qb. Very disappointing how well jets ran their O. On the other hand the Bears offense is just getting better. Running well and passing well. Man if Cutler could get time like this every game, they would shred people.
  2. The Bears had an athletic freak too. He could jump out of pools! They are going to make webb nickel and dime his way down the field, this i gotta see. IF the Bears lose this game with the division on the line this one will be earth shattering.
  3. Tavaris Jackson please. That offense was Chicago V Carolina bad last night.
  4. Jesus. Too bad the ground is too frozen to bury the ball.
  5. So Haynesworth gone. Maybe now they can discuss what a terrible decision by Shannahan it was to switch to the 3-4. Wash had a pretty good top ten defense last year, now they are dead last. Haynesworth is a baby, but its not on him for their terrible failures on the defense.
  6. Im so sick of hearing about that Suh penalty. It was unnecessary roughness. What he did with the swing was totally unnecessary. It was only a 7 yard penalty and wasnt something that happened on the last play of the game or anything. McDaniels also didnt get along with Mike Nolan who freaking turned around that crap defense into something pretty good last year. Now they are crap again. McDaniels is the punk, not Cutler.
  7. The Pats are 4th in the league in yards per passing attempt. And while they are middle of the pack in yards per reception, they have just 2 plays fewer over 20 yards than Green Bay does. True, they don't have a guy that is a bonafide deep threat, but they will send any and every receiver (besides Welker) down the field. Tate, Hernandez, and Branch can beat you deep if they have the matchup in their favor (1-on-1). I definitely wouldn't play a ton of 2-deep. But you can't just not play Cover 2. Can't really play just 1 style against the Patriots at all, because they can do so many different things offensively. Brady completes 67% of his passes, yards per attempt doesnt mean he throws the ball down the field. Bears should play their defense but the safties can cheat on the short/intermediate routes more with NE than Philly. Their zone defense should stop the YAC's and their big run after the catches plays. Jets got beat bad on a lot of man-to-man plays. The dline needs to get pressure or they are complete toast.
  8. Patriots defense doesnt put a whole lot of pressure on opposing qbs, this is the Bears major weakness so it shouldn't be exploited too dramatically. NE is slight notch above average running the ball, im not too worried with BGE. They have no deep threats and dont push it down the field at all, the Bears safties better not be sitting back like the Eagles game. DJ Moore on Welker will be interesting to see how DJ does. A win would be fantastic, id just like to see the Bears stay competitive which i think they can.
  9. Couple weeks ago i remember Martz saying Bennett is really coming around for a slot receiver, i was like well i trust you Mike but i dont see it yet. Last 2 weeks...Bears have their new slot receiver. Fantastic game by Earl. Oh and lol to wind it up and Shawn Dunston it.
  10. Vick will need to nickel and dime his way down the field vs this Bears defense. Not his strong suit. The safties for the Bears really havent been challenged over the top this year, this will be a good test for them. Zone defense is a good defense for mobile qbs, i don't like the how the Bears oline matches up against the birds defense and blitz schemes.
  11. Defense rocks on so many levels. Offense did well on pass and run, play strategy etc. Webb is such a weak spot even if they try to slide protection his side, he is such a clown. Instead of the line sucking as a hole now its predominately on one player. Awesome win, im feeling pretty good about this team.
  12. A lot of talk has been about the offensive struggles and the oline in particular, all fair by me. But the defense improvement really seems to have gone unnoticed. I didnt have a lot of expectations in the defense but they are playing really well. Im not going to give total credit to Marinelli but he deserves some. The dline play has improved, they arent giving up the big plays anymore and are getting off the field on 3rd down much better than last year (32 compared to 41). I feel pretty good about this game, especially how the defense stacks up against the fins. If the oline can be average and hold off a pass rush they should do fine. Cutler can avoid sacks if its one player, but if the whole pocket collapses the offense is doomed. I like seeing him move around and scramble for yards, this could loosen up defenses a bit. Oh and that first play of the game the Eagles ran last night, how bout they put that play in and run it with knox or Hester, Cutler can throw bombs, just needs some time.
  13. So has the media come off the stance that the Bears just need to try and run more and it will all of a sudden work? After Sundays performance to the worst running defense i think its pretty obvious the problems isnt the strategy but the offensive line. Hopefully sunday put all that to rest and the blame can be pinned on the line and Angelo.
  14. Anything on Webb starting? That was awful last week. When he didnt know what he was doing he had cinderblocks for shoes the other times.
  15. Well if you consider a timeout an audible to get out of a play then lovie is right. The Bears thus have 3 audibles.
  16. Mulligans opinions are jacked-up. Pass isnt working so we must run more power with this line, big guys moving forward bla blah tired cliches cha cha cha. Um no, have you seen these guys in short-yardage. They sucked even before these 2 clowns on the right side got in, if you cant run short yardage plays you do not have a power line running game to incorporate outside of those situations. Its actually amazing Cutler threw the ball for 290 yards. There were a couple times Cutler was in the pocket with his head moving in all directions like bees were swarming his head because the pressure was from everywhere, it was laughable. This line sucks, period. Its not the OC or line coach its Angelo for assembling this 3 ring circus of clowns try to protect the star of the show. Cutler is going to get sacked like 70 times this year. WTF. I just got my Cutler jersey from china in, now all i need to do to make it authentic is get some grass stains on it. I picked up the skins defense, at least ill get something out of this spectacular craptacular line.
  17. He won some award and the presentation is tomorrow night. So he switched with some guy.
  18. Thanks guys, i bought one of the Cutler jerseys from Yuki. Well i think i did, it has asked for CC yet. $38 is phenominal. This defense has really improved, its actually the cover 2 bend but dont break and not breaking on big plays like the past cup years. I wish i had a time machine for Tommie Harris. If he can get pressure (not sure why he was inactive) that will go a long way. When Cutler gets time he shreds defenses.
  19. I don't care that the Bears can't run the ball that well but they need to improve in short yardage situations. Going tight and pounding it doesn't work with this line, id like them to try and spread the defense out with 3 or 4 wides and run some zone blocking plays where Forte can use his one cut and vision strengths to hit the hole, rather than the hole be forced to him by the play design. Im a BIG fan of Martz though. Give him some talent on the oline and it will really take off. Forte and Taylor are great at screens. The one thing RT got right was splitting Forte wide, glad Martz uses this tactic. I really like how he used Olsen as the hot receiver on the TD play too. The defensive energy of this teams seems to be much improved, they really are all over the field swarming. The LBS are awesome. I like having Urlacher AND Pisa healthy. I like DJ Moore a lot too and this isnt just because of his ints. The safties havent been exposed too much yet. You can't run on this defense, it can't be done.
  20. Ha. Bama is on the same time the race is on. Those hillbillies are so screwed.
  21. I don't get the Jets hype either. There room for error isnt very good, the games they play are so close anything can happen. Their offense isnt a threat and i dont think Sanchez makes a Peyton Manning type of revolution from year one. I see Stafford improving much more than Sanchez. Just because they got to the championship game doesnt make them contenders, they barely made the playoffs last year. They will be a winning team but not by much, there are better AFC teams than them.
  22. You also want an offense that can dictate the tempo, control the clock, and protect leads. Scoring points is great and critical but you can always system your way to putting up points if you have even a little bit of talent. It's kinda like Texas Tech in college football. They'll always have big numbers but it's hard for them to win games against great opponents because they're one dimensional and can't control the clock when they need to. I know, i wish we had a type offense that went to 2 Super Bowls and won one. Wait we do. Tech's defense has historically sucked and the 2009 Arizona Cardinals and 2010 Saints and Colts didnt run the ball either. Running is only important in short yardage situations. If it was as easy as systeming your way to points the Jets should go to that and blow through the league this year.
  23. Jeff Backus sucks at LT and the Lions line wasnt very good either. Martz team still put up #s with Jon Kitna, Mike Furrey and Shaun McDonald, etc. Williams>/=Backus. Williams played pretty good at LT at the end of the year, until his play becomes a trend then i will be worried. This preseason can't get over soon enough.
  24. Who cares. Its not like Henie was going to do anything with this team by himself anyway. The Bears arent the Jets where you have a great D and solid line and you can just plug in a veteran Qb to make the playoffs. Id rather them throw Lefevour in the fire and see what happens. Pocket Teabow can at least move around, Martz loved this guy. its a lot more interesting than some replacement vet. Believe it or not this line is going to be better than last year for Cutler. Ok thats not saying much and it wont be dramatic but the tackle play will be improved. How many years can you say Tommie Harris is the wildcard for this defense? I swear this is my last, especially with Peppers on the line. I am also less of a believer in the Tampa 2/Cover 2. Hell i was a big believer with the Bucs and early Bears but i think the league and style of play has caught up with it. This seams like a dying bread and not all the important pieces seem to be in place. SS a big void.
  25. What the hell is going on in CFB. This is crazy.
